CCH has higher expectations than SK does every year and they have a roadblock to a championship just like SK does. Nobody expects SK to win a championship this year because they simply aren't better than anyone in the Super District or Scott County. And that's before we get to the WKY part of 6A. Would a tougher schedule make them better? Maybe, but they still wouldn't beat the Super District +Scott County and neither would CovCath and Highlands probably wouldn't either.

 

If the SK program is to get to the point where it can play with Scott County or the Super District teams, it has to improve its schedule. Maybe SK cannot play with them this year but they NEVER will if they don't constantly try to improve (and beating HC and NCC will never help SK improve). JMHO

I agree. They aren't the best in NKY and their schedule doesn't allow them to prove it. Next year it does. Until then SK should just enjoy the ride and strive to make a statement next year. Until they can beat Highlands they'll never compete for a title.

Here's the thing though. When anyone says SK has the best team in NKY I laugh, ignore it and move on. That's like me saying Boyle County is the best team in 4A. All credibility is lost instantly. No point in addressing it. SK is good and they have a quality team but we all know that until they defeat Highlands they can't stake claim to that title.

 

Hell, can they beat Dixie is a better question IMO.

However, it's been proven time and time again that noone ignores it. It is good discussion when it is kept civil. I'm in the show and prove camp and everytime SK has a chance to show and prove they let me down. They are almost there but they still aren't ready yet.

I would say that you would be better off being 7-2, if those two losses were against a more quality opponent than HC, or NCC.

 

I would prefer a tougher schedule and have a couple of losses during the regular season if it made my team more prepared for the post season.

 

It's not like they do not know what lies in their path in the post season... why not do everything possible to prepare for it?

I say that barring injuries CCH is 8-0. And I certainly do not think CCH at full strength is a great team. HHS proved that.

Let me get this straight, your team is 0 for it's last three games so instead of reviewing what happen to mighty Cov Cath you decide to go warm and fuzzy by saying your team would never have lost if they played our schedule. Disagree, all SK has to do is be able to compette with the teams in weeks 12-16, if they have the talent to do so, they will. If they don't, they won't, it doesn't matter who they play in weeks 0-11.

Schedule...schedule....schedule. So tired of it. Maybe playing Highlands helps us but adding CovCath may hurt our Harbin. In the end, doesn't matter who we play during the regular season. This program (or any other NKY 6A program) needs a ton of help to win a title over Scott County and the Louisville programs.
