Is it SK's fault the teams they play are having bad seasons? So what will everybody say after SK beats Dixie? More lame excuses? SK is for real. Ryle game was Ryle's homecoming they where jacked. I was told that SK players thought they would have a easy one. They still managed to get the win. SK tonight had to face a down pour that helped Boone a lot. SK only passed 9 times they usually pass 20 times. When it is all said and done SK finds a way to win! Before the season started everybody said SK would have a down year and be an average team. Guess what SK is 8-0! Next Friday around 9 pm SK will be 9-0!!!

 

It is SK's fault they schedule 1A HC and 2A NCC...C'mon man, you are a 6A school. I have no problem with the rest of the SK schedule. Just think how much the schedule would be improved if you replaced those two schools with CCH and Elder or HHS and Cincy St. X or Scott County and Moeller.

Simon Kenton takes a lot of heat for succeeding in NKY football. If I'm a true fan of the Pioneers, I don't let what anyone says bother me about this team, that team, the other team, etc.

It doesn't matter if SK scheduled Ohio teams or whomever. Ask CovCath. You play the schedule that you have and sort it out in the playoffs. Some of you guys just can't accept the fact that SK has a quality team and you get all emotional over one SK fan and it makes me laugh.

Incorrect. This all started in the Dave Wirth thread. I said if CCH played SK's schedule we would not have this thread going because Dave would be 8-0. Guru wanted it's own thread.

 

As I've said 1,000 times on here I only root for teams that I'm affiliated with. I don't root for or against other teams. So SK's success or failure is 100% immaterial to me.

CCH has higher expectations than SK does every year and they have a roadblock to a championship just like SK does. Nobody expects SK to win a championship this year because they simply aren't better than anyone in the Super District or Scott County. And that's before we get to the WKY part of 6A. Would a tougher schedule make them better? Maybe, but they still wouldn't beat the Super District +Scott County and neither would CovCath and Highlands probably wouldn't either.

I agree with Clyde. Healthy CCH would be 8-0 (and ranked #6 in 6A ).

 

We know SK is good. The question is how good and that schedule gives us no insight.

 

We find out about SK next week versus Dixie. A word of caution to everyone ... we all knocked their schedule last year and they went undefeated to round 3 of the playoffs.

I disagree with you on this on PP92. I really could not give a "you know what" about SK because they don't play HHS and are not in the same class as HHS. But when some of their fans want to say they are the best team in NKY, it has to be challenged because of the comparatively weak schedule they play.

 

But that is not that important. What is important is that the schedule they have played this year will not prepare them for the good teams they will have to beat in the playoffs. Some of their schedule is not their fault as some of the teams they have played are simply having sub-par seasons. But Holy Cross (1A) and NCC (2A)? Can you imagine Bowing Green playing a really bad 1A team? I am not saying SK should play a murderers row of great teams - that can beat you up - but SK should play a couple of very good teams to see what they need to improve upon.

This is where you have it wrong PP92. No one doubts SK has a quality team. It is the talk that they are the best team in the state (because they are undefeated against that schedule) that gets everyone riled up ... and you agree they aren't the best team in the state.

Here's the thing though. When anyone says SK has the best team in NKY I laugh, ignore it and move on. That's like me saying Boyle County is the best team in 4A. All credibility is lost instantly. No point in addressing it. SK is good and they have a quality team but we all know that until they defeat Highlands they can't stake claim to that title.

 

Hell, can they beat Dixie is a better question IMO.

I watched CovCath with Hellbird and Clyde. CovCath lacks a good running game. They wouldn't be 8-0.
