theguru Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 and lack of attendance at school today. Can't practice if half your starters don't attend school. And to all you players that missed school, if you don't want to play anymore then quit. But don't run game because you want a day off school. You can screw around all you want once football season is over.

If half your starters aren't showing up for school, is something else going on?
theguru Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 It's a shame what has happened to this once successful football program. If half your starters aren't showing up for school, is something else going on? I believe a large amount of kids missed school today, not just ball players.
Clyde Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I believe a large amount of kids missed school today, not just ball players. When you know ahead of time it's an excused absence you get a lot of kids staying home. I can't imagine staying home during the season.

Just Jim Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 [h=1]Bomb threatened at Boone County High Officials warn of bomb threat at Boone Co. High[/h]FLORENCE – Boone County High parents were notified Monday that a message threatening to "blow up the school" was found in the girls bathroom, but that school officials think it was just a prank. "We do not believe it is a valid threat, just merely an unfortunate, cruel, stupid prank," said Principal Mark Raleigh in an automated phone call sent to parents Monday afternoon. He said the message, found in a girls bathroom, threatened "to blow up the school" Tuesday. Raleigh said the school will operate as usual Tuesday, though there will be an additional police presence. School officials "are continuing to investigate in hopes of apprehending and finding the person responsible."
tark the shark Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I walked around Boone's track this morning, there was a Florence Police presence in the parking lot. I did not put 2 and 2 together.

SportsGuy41017 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 school will operate as usual Tuesday' date=' though there will be an additional police presence[/quote'] And this is why I think it's a crock that some stayed home, as others have mentioned, it's taking advantage of the situation.
Ram Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 We had a constant problem with a school in the area and students doing this. They always got out of school. Then, the school started making the students make the time up in the evening and not letting them out until 6 or 7 each day. The bomb threats stopped all of a sudden.
GloryDays Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I hate pranks like that. They are no longer pranks. They are felonies, and we as adults must continue to stress to kids that behavior like this is no longer a joking matter. Could end up ruining a young persons life over what was considered a joke prior to 9/11/01. Actually started in the 90's with all the school shootings and such. Damn, that corporal punishment prior to 1990 sure was awful huh?
SportsGuy41017 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 The more I think about it I would have held practice, prepare the players who showed up for the game this weekend, as THEY would be the players that get playing time.
