thsrocks Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 In junior varsity game contested with 10 MINUTE quarters at PRP, Trinity came out on top 48-6. Soph Larry Harper III led the Shamrocks at QB. The opening drive of the match saw Harper throw a pick six that ricocheted off a receiver's hands into a Panther defender. PRP's attempt at a two point conversion failed. Harper proceeded to throw three first half TD passes, two to junior Connor Carrico and one to freshman Manny Harper. Sophomore Roderick Thomas was a beast at running back. Junior Jody Osborne was the featured back in the first quarter. Sophomore Jovan Smith was outstanding at tailback as well. Sophomore Spencer Blackburn saw action at QB in the third and fourth quarters. Junior Enzo Palombino added a couple of pass receptions. The defense was solid the entire game. Sophomores Zyan Bethel, Justin Ritchie, Jovel Smith, & Colin McKinley all played well at DB. Junior kicker Jay Nunamaker made 7 conversions for the Rocks.

Maybe that young QB can gain some game experience - help him get better for later on.
thsrocks Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Actually, Nunamaker only made 6 conversions. :ohbrother: The caps for 10 minute quarters=my shock because 98% of the JV and freshmen games contested at JCPS schools are 8 minute quarters. I applaud PRP for playing 10 minute quarters.
thsrocks Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 duplicate post= NCIS: New Orleans on TV:idunno:

Actually JV games are always 10 minute quarters, frosh around the state usually play 8, it's Trinity that usually tries to get them to agree to play 10 but 8 is the norm for freshman games. If you're looking for something to be critical of JCPS programs for this isn't it.
Purple88 Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 ths, When do you think the Harper kid gets a chance to play varsity ball?
thsrocks Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 ths, When do you think the Harper kid gets a chance to play varsity ball? I assume you meant the sophomore:the next time Coach Beatty feels there is a need to make a change at QB. The freshman may see action before the season ends in a varsity game at DB.

I believe 8 minutes is the norm locally for JV unless Trinity can talk them into 10 minute quarters. Out of state schools normally play 10. Private schools normally play 10. Maybe some others can share their knowledge on the subject.

RockPride Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 So Sophomore Larry Harper III is the backup varsity QB? He started last game..but I think he's going to settle in as a very solid backup.
price499 Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 What do you Trinity posters think about Colin McKinley?
tcjkbt Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 What do you Trinity posters think about Colin McKinley? The program lists him as 5'9", 155 WR/DB, sophomore. I don't really know anything about him specifically. Sorry.
Antwan Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I have always wondered why y'all post jv scores. Does it really matter?
Jaysie Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 It matters to people following the schools from afar.
