September 19, 201412 yr I have a strong urge to throw my remote through the TV at Roger Goodell. Arrogant, moronic, condescending, egotistic...I could go on for days. I truly believe he thinks everyone outside of his office is stupid -- that's just not the case.
September 20, 201412 yr If this ESPN story is remotely true, a lot of people need to tumble. Goodell included. It looks like John Harbaugh and the Director of Palyer personnel were the only ones who wanted to get rid of Rice in February. Biscotti almost looks criminal. Cass was trying to and did seem to influence the New Jersey verdict. Newsome thought it would blow over after a while and it couldn't be worse than the Ray Lewis and Jamaal Lewis stuff. Goodell was bullied by the Ravens and succumbed. Remember I said if the story below is true. How the Ray Rice scandal unfolded between the Baltimore Ravens, Roger Goodell and the NFL - ESPN

If you throw your remote through the TV..................you won't be able to watch the NFL......and you know you will be watching the NFL.
September 20, 201412 yr I hate abuse. I really do. But what do the people want Goodell to do? When he found out how bad it was, he increased the penalty? Did he know about the tape previously? I don't know, I can't imagine he did. But someone tell me how he should have handled it? What should he have done differently?

How the Ray Rice scandal unfolded between the Baltimore Ravens, Roger Goodell and the NFL - ESPN BM, only using your quote as a point of reference for later in the post. I didn't see the Goodell presser, but saw some clips and social media thoughts. It appears it didn't come off well. Not shocked. Some won't be happy unless he is fired or resigns, I won't weigh in on that. On ESPN and their take. I'll bet it is all money driven more so than the NFL, if possible. CBS got the Thursday night game, NBC has the Sunday night game, and ESPN is still clinging to MNF. They work hard to make it relevant, but it seldom is. They have to be peeved. Nothing worse than a scorned partner, except one with a ton of money and a ton of air time. ESPN will beat this to death, or get to the truth...zero matter to them. They have the time and hired talent, so they'll beat it around like a World Cup game.

He should have suspended him indefinitely right away, and pressured the Ravens to cut ties with him. The video showed nothing that wasn't already known. Weren't you one that didn't think the AP stuff was that bad too?

September 20, 201412 yr Weren't you one that didn't think the AP stuff was that bad too? I didn't think it was the same. I thought he was just over disciplining his son. But I think something else came out that caused him to be out indefinitely. I do not think he was deactivated over the one thing with his son.

ESPN has a lot to lose if this isn't mostly accurate. They make the Ravens look like the bad guys mostly. If all this is true, then Cass and Newsome probably won't survive and Biscotti will get the big, not really for him, maximum they can fine. I think Goodell have trouble surviving this due to the favoritism he seems to play with certain owners. It looks like the Ravens double crossed him. That is his fault for not conducting the investigation thoroughly. He took their word for it by and large. This may explain why he didn't really say anything yesterday in the press conference. This thing is going to just get worse before it gets anywhere to being better. It will be interesting to see how those owners that appear not to be in Goodell's inner circle react to this.

Massive cover up and plausible deniability was purposley made by a lot of people.
September 20, 201412 yr Of couese the Ravens are gonna try and cover it up, the video wasn't shown immediately so they tried to hide what happened. They hoped if they showed support of Ray Rice then it'd blow over. The Ravens Twitter account focused more on his now wife's part in the incident rather than what Ray Rice did. I hope more and more leaks out until the Ravens organization is thrown completely under the bus, and Goodell is begging for his job. No sense is acting the way they are.

In a perfect world, I agree with you. But, in reality ESPN has nothing to lose. If the story doesn't go anywhere, they move on to their next agenda.
