In my case it's the way Lex Cath lost that got me thinking they're off. Bryan Station just dominated. I think even a Lex Cath fan said it wasn't as close as the score indicated. Shoot, I can't even figure out NKY let alone the Lexington area.

Nope. Because they are and they prove it by playing quality teams. Scott County has one quality win and it is over a team not even in the 6A top 10. Collins says Scott County is overrated.

Highlands is number one, they have only played one strong team and beat them by six points in a shootout where both teams scored over 40 points.

 

Should St. Xavier even be in the Top 10? They lost to a team smaller then them and couldn't score no where near as many points on a team that Highlands scored 40 on.

This is all true. Just 2 years ago LexCath beat the public school champs (Lafayette) 42-7. But as we all know 2 years is a lifetime in high school football, the public schools are improving and Catholic has a lot to do to get back to that level.

Belfry beat Henry Clay. Anytime a 3A school defeats a decent 6A school it is a quality win.

 

I wouldn't have a problem ranking CovCath #1 but I'm not sure CovCathbhas earned the right to be ahead of Highlands yet.

I feel you. Hopefully the Generals are able to change your mind before the season is over. Lexington football seems to be going in the right direction now.

Does the loss of Nero hurt Manual or do they have a capable replacement for him?

 

McCracken County- Mayfield is a great team...but beating a 1A team by 1 in OT should never be a major accomplishment for a 6A Team

 

Yet over the years many bigger class teams have taken a L to little ole Mf :ylsuper:

 

McCracken is not quite a 100% for Friday but how they do against a S Haven, MS will answer a lot of questions. I believe MaxP has S Haven at #280 in the country so a very real test

 

My guess is McCracken is around #9-10. Skill athletes are there but line play may be their undoing with the big boys

Depends. If Trinity defeats Logan County by 3 points they should drop out of the top 10.

 

Who do you have in mind though?

I am a lexington guy but I think people are getting a little carried away with saying SC is overrated. They scored against Lafayette on every possession they had in the game except 1. Sure the loss off Grayson Miller hurt but Keith Guy and Theo Price are arguably the best 2 6a running backs in the state not including Nero, and they are both playin both ways now. I think Scott Co is right where they should be, Maybe ahead of T and not far behind Male.

I would say Manual is better and with a better resume than the other 6A super district teams. They handled Bowling Green in scrimmage in Bowling Green, shutting them out. They beat #2 Central 41-7. They beat a much improved Fern Creek team despite losing Nero. Then everyone says "what are they going to do without Nero" and they simply come out and beat PRP 43-0, a team Scott County beat 55-27. They have the #1 scoring defense in all classes. They have beat Male 4 years in a row. HOWEVER, I do feel they will have to defeat Trinity and St Xavier to garner respect as the top school.

Lafayette should get some notice. But they are still behind Bryan Station. So Station should be ahead of Lafayette in terms of relative ranking.

 

As for the H2H comparison with LexCath - LexCath should have or at least easily could have won the Lafayette game. But that was not the case with Bryan Station. As I posted in the post-game thread - it was an eerie feeling when the score got to 28-0 early on in the Bryan Station game before LexCath got its first score. Too similar to last years semi-final.
