Hicks broke his arm against Boone, Smith wrecked his knee in practice and Keller hurt against Camels....not one game but in one week. Pretty devastating. Keller could return if all goes well, after our bye week.

I hope they make it back before the season is over.

I hope they make it back before the season is over.

Elliot along with Marcus are their best linemen so that hurts

Pioneers should win comfortably. Was thinking it might be a good game until the Cooper defense lost those key players. Hope they all get back on the field this year. Is Powell playing? I really like watching him run so still might try to make this game.

I'd put my Pioneers on upset alert this week. Big blowout wins, players getting mentioned for weekly awards, 4-0, playing a team missing some key players, on the road, etc..

I have tons of respect for the work the coaching staff and kids have put in at Cooper. Wouldn't surprise me at all if this were close.

Simon Kenton 28-20.

Wish Keller was in there, he was having a good year, but the Jags play solid D. They keep good leverage on the ball. This will be a tough game but I believe SK wins in a dog fight.

Is Cooper going to water down the field?

We are watering the field, paying officials, getting the band to leave at halftime, having our announcer say nothing related to that other school and cutting off their water for good measure

Plus I'm doing chains....those measurements for 1st downs may be interesting lol

I'm as big a Cooper fan as there is. My son starts varsity offense and defense. I would love to see them pull off the upset. But I'm also a realist. Cooper is a good 5a team. I'm afraid they are over matched in this one. But that won't keep me from cheering on my Jags.

First and foremost, good luck to your son and I hope stays healthy all year!

Secondly, I'm a little surprised a 5A school has a kid starting both ways. Are there many of them starting both ways? I didn't realize Cooper has kids playing both ways.

Good luck to the Jags, but I think SK is much the best.

This is the first year many are only playing 1 way. In the past the majority played both. This year for the first time Cooper has their numbers up and have 70 players. With that said they only have like 10 seniors, so majority are underclassmen.

That however does make their future look bright.

we have a few playing both ways. He plays more defense than offense, depending on the formations that are called. Thanks for the well wishes. So far so good he's been injury free.

Not surprised at all- just here in N Ky 6A in recent years you have had Dixie, Boone, Ryle and Campbell (I believe) playing some kids both ways.

I hope both teams come away injury free.

This is one of the most impressive posts I think you have ever typed. LOL but seriously this game means nothing to both teams and is the week before districts and Cooper is battling the injury bug. I think both coaching staffs would agree that the number one goal of this game is to come away injury free.
