Simon Kenton 34 Scott 20 (Frosh)

Featured Replies

The schedule is set up so there are no issues with too much playing time. There are only 4 Jv games scheduled and I think 7 Freshman games. Everything is spread out, and weeks they play JV, there is no Freshman game, and when there is a freshman game, there's no JV game.

Nelson has taken a couple varsity snaps.

Smart move on behalf of Scott's coach. Locked in! Highlands doesn't normally do this until the 1st round of playoffs. "Lockem in night" :dancingpa

Very well played game by both squads. NKY Frosh football looks to be very balanced this year, which bodes well for the years ahead!

So the SK Freshman team just handled the last years middle school champs by 14 points?

Is Woodlands the ONLY school that feeds Scott? Is Summit View the ONLY school that feeds Simon Kenton. If so then you MAY have a point.

Sheeze.

Summit View feeds Scott and Simon Kenton!

Summit View feeds Scott and Simon Kenton!

...and your the only one on BGP who thought I needed to know that.

Just ponderous.

Let me take a guess here, there is already a team full of D1 talent on the frosh squad that could beat half of the varsity teams in Ky right?

Summit View feeds Scott and Simon Kenton!

Actually by district lines Summit View feeds Dixie and SK, nothing to Scott anymore.

Twenhofel feeds SK and Scott (I think the northern part of Twenhofel district line is still in Scotts line, it used to be)

Turkeyfoot feeds - Dixie and Scott

Woodland Fees Scott and Dixie.

To Simon Kenton's credit, it appears their platoon system has helped them win their first two games. Earlier reports on this thread and watching the game against the camels, the young Neers have taken competitive games and worn out their opponent. Credit to SK.

The Freshman league is looking very competitive this year.

Nelson is the freshman, JV and backup varsity QB. They only have about 5 JV games scheduled, and many of the freshman starters are pulling double duty on the JV team as well.

That should really sit well for the Varsity team the next 3 years. Having someone that young already getting to work with the Varsity players can be nothing but a huge plus for their QB situation in the future.

Does Uk#1fan have him projected as a USC or OSU recruit yet?

Really?? SK's freshman team is fed by both Summit View and Twenhofel and had key performers from both teams. Scott's freshman team only has kids from Woodland. And take away a mistake in clock management and a penalty that took a TD off the board, and it's an even ball game. Look, I believe SK is a little better, and certainly has more depth. But it's a 6a school playing a 4a (starting next year). It's a game SK should win, and in years past, this game would have been a 50pt blowout.

It's actually Danny Shearer's son who played LB at Georgetown College back in the 80's. His son Matt was at Highlands last year and transferred to Simon moving in with his Mother who lives a Crow's fly from SK. Matt was my QB last year in the FTJFL and did a very nice job. Why the Transfer? Some people say it was for personal reasons and others say he wanted to play QB at HHS and that wasn't going to happen this year. I hope Matthew the best of luck.....

Danny played LB g-town? in High School he was always a line man, never know for his wheels. Strong and tough yes, foot speed noo! I know he didn't go the traditional route, I think he may have not started g-town until he was in his 20's. Good to see his son doing well.

Isn't there a JV game at Scott this Saturday against Grant County? May want to check your "spread out" schedule. Someone will be watching his quarters.

Can someone produce the rule on playing time? I have seen various kids over the years play a full JV game then 2 or 3 quarters of a Varsity in a blow out...

That was an inaccurate statement.
