September 12, 201412 yr My wife had the same thing in the exact spot and we thought it was a bite of some kind, but it kept growing. It was shingles and we thought they only were on the abdomen area or back where she didn't have anything. We were shocked but got to the Dr. early and stopped it from being too bad. I hope I am wrong, but just a POI.
September 13, 201412 yr Author What up Jimmy? They seem to feel like the antibiotics should knock it out. Wanted me to take some benadryl as well, which is gonna make getting up in the morning rough. The main concern is that while the infection at the site of the bites has subsided and is no longer quite as irritated, it seems some of it has migrated below the skin between my ear and my skull. It's quite painful to the touch there, as well as on my lymph nodes down my neck. Another weird thing is I have developed some numbness in that ear, which is scary. I'd rather not go through life like Van Gogh. Fingers crossed over the effectiveness of doxycycline.

On the good side, the marks are still there topically, but the irritation is gone. The pain behind my ear under the skin is still there, albeit not as severe. The numbness in my ear in the cartilage area up top has started to subside.

But seriously, very good to hear you are getting better!!
