It's the people around him. Hard to be a good QB with WR's running wrong routes, not looking when they're supposed to and the offensive line barely blocking. That is just last night. Hi look at the Giants rushing stats last year and add that to the list for last year. Eli hasn't been great, but there's not much he could do. Andy Dalton would not make the Giants better at all.

The one big advantage that I see with Tony Romo is performance when the game is on the line. Now I'd still take Dalton over him today because, again, I think Dalton's best days are in front of him and I don't feel that way with Tony Romo. However, to my point, I think Tony Romo is not given the credit he deserves for being big in big situations (again, typical lazy fan narrative). Dalton, famously, hasn't been good in those spots yet in his career. Last year is a perfect example, in the 4th quarter and the game within 7 up or down, Tony had 8 TD's, 4 INT's, and a passer rating of 105.0. Dalton, in the same situations, had 1 TD, 2 INT's, and a passer rating of 77.6. Romo is really good in those spots, and as of yet, Dalton isn't. That said, based primarily on age and where I think they are on their career path, I'd still take Dalton #1, the proven winner #2, and Romo 3rd. Again, I wouldn't take Manziel under any situation, I am in full agreement with Merrill Hoge and was on that wagon long before he said it two weeks ago.

After reading your defense of Elimagain after his usual horrible outing makes me thinkmyoumshould never reply to any NFL thread again. Eli was his usual bad self. He's had more games like that in his career than good games yet you still turn a blind eye. I just looked, you blame Victor Cruz for Eli being horrible again, yet it was Eli who had the 2nd lowest QB rating out of every QB who played this week. At least I speak the truth and don't hide behind excuses for a QB's bad play.

It's the people around him. how many seasons does it take where Eli leads the league with the most or close to the most INT's u til you stop blaming everyone else for his issues? He isn't a HOF QB as some have mentioned, he is a below avg QB that happened to have 2 good SB games. Those games don't dismiss all his other games woes. This isn't something new with Eli, just look at his entire career, this isn't a recent anomaly. It's par for the course with him. In 10+ seasons and counting Eli has only had 2 seasons where his rating broke 90. He also has only had 2 seasons where he played in 10 or more games where he threw less than 15 INT's and never had any of those seasons where he threw less than double digit interceptions. To put it in It's simplest form. Eli is averaging more than 1 int a game for his entire career. That is 1+ Int's every single game he plays. That is not good. Peyton is the guy that eats/sleeps/dreams football. He dissects everything. Eli seems like the guy that always shows up late to work with no excuse and spends the first 30 minutes at the coffee maker before he decides it's time to get started. I just don't think he 'loves' football.

He was my fav QB when he was in college and was said to be the best of all the Mannings who ayes QB. That was said by Archie and Peyton. The problem however is talent can only take you so far and Peyton is mucho re cerebral QB which has made him the better QB. Eli I think enjoys the game as much as he ever has, he just peaked in college I think and has never gotten over that hump. He doesn't have the iq his brother has and his poor decision making shows that. If it wasn't for the last name he would never be talked about in the top 2 tiers of QB's in the NFL. All the hype he's gotten is not earned. It isn't just recently he's been questioned if he is good enough or not. Both SB years he also was as the season went on. He's an ok QB. But there are many others, including Dalton I'd rather have in the reg season. Post season right now is take Eli over Dalton. Hopefully I won't feel That way after this year though but Dalton needs to prove he won't fold like a napkin in the post season first.
