This will be a tougher game for the Eagles but I think they win by 21.

Scott by 2tds

Scott will have to play better, and be more consistent. In the end they are deeper, and have more weapons than Newport.

Scott might not be a top team but they are good enough to provide a nice matchup for Newport. Being at home and being deeper should work in Scott's favor. But Newport should be competitive in this type of game if they have any thoughts of advancing in the postseason. I don't see a real high scoring game.

Interesting matchup. Newport has some players - RB Joseph, WR/DB Burton, QB Price, Johnson on the line, a couple more good ones. Newport has played a tougher schedule. Scott blasted Newport last year so the Wildcats are surely thinking pay back time. I see this as a close, hard fought battle.

I think the Eagles win; should be close though.

Newport has a few athletic play makers on defense and Breandon Johnson #74 won`t be moved. He is surrounded by teammates who want to win. they are all in!!

Newport matches up well with Scott but I think Scott's depth will be the deciding factor.

Scott handled Johnson pretty easily last last year, and their fast paced, ground and pound offense really tests the conditioning of D Lineman, something that has never been a strength of Johnson. I'm sure he's even better this year, but it's going to take more than just Johnson to shut down the three headed running attack Scott has.

Its not the same Scott line this year. They will have fits with Johnson. Also, Scott does not have more weapons than Newport. Newport has more playmakers than Scott in my opinion but depth is a big question for Newport. Scott will not win this game by 3 TD's. This will be a close game. I give the slight edge to Newport.

I don't think it will be a 3 touchdown game either, although i think both teams will score more than 3 touchdowns. As far as weapons, Pleasant and London can score anytime they touch ball. Pleasant is especially dangerous returning punts. Sowder runs the ball well too, and if Fitzgerald can get time, the tight end seems to always sneak behind the defense.

The line will be OK...they run block much better than pass block, and Johnson's always had issues with conditioning. He's always tended to take plays off as well. Scott's unbalanced line will also keep him off the ball, and give Scott and opportunity to always double him.

Is Johnson in good enough shape to play a whole game yet? Or are the Wildcats still subbing for him regularly? Great talent. If he lost 30 pounds, he would be unstoppable.

I agree with a lot of what you posted. IMO, London is a top 2-3 RB in NKY. Johnson does take plays off but when he wants to be he is unblockable and Scott doesn't have anyone that can block him. Johnson causes lots of trouble up the middle so I don't think Scotts direct snap to the fullback will have much success against Newport. Good news for Scott is they run lots of sweeps and Newport seems to struggle stopping the run out wide. Newport also has a very glaring weakness at one corner position but Scott just doesn't throw the ball enough to take advantage of it. Newport is very big for a 2A school so they will not be overwhelmed by Scotts size. Also, Newport is very physical and has good speed. This should be a good game.

He plays both ways so he does not play every snap.
