Dixie Glass Half Full approach: Dixie played a really good team and special teams got them in the hole early. It's only one game. Moore is a stud athlete and playmaker.

Dixie Glass Half Empty: Passing game is poor. Pass D is struggling. Too dependent upon one player.

BW Glass Half Full: Lost to a really good team in what turned out to be a close game. Passing game will dominate Dixie. Dixie will seem slow compared to MH.

BW Glass Half Empty: MH relaxed after getting big lead. Let BW back in. Home game for Dixie.

Pick your glass.

This is brilliant...EVERY team in NKY is slower than the Mt. Healthy Owls!

Exactly. That's why it was in the glass half full slot.

On the BW half empty, you are wrong. MH did not relax. The game was actually closer all along than the score showed. MH didn't change one thing or lose intensity. MH stacked the box virtually the entire game. BW moved the ball the entire game but did not make plays when they got within scoring distance. When BW finally went all in on the passing game and took the open plays MH was giving them, the Tigers comeback was on. No relaxing by MH. Better execution and play calling by Beechwood.

I guess I need to be clearer.

Just like I am not saying Dixie is slow I am not saying MH relaxed. I am stating what perceptions are depending on your viewpoint.

I'm surprised at the current post results at 28/8 favoring Beechwood. Did Dixie really lose that much from last year?

If Beechwood truly believes they are ready to win a state title, then they need to start proving it with a win against Dixie. I believe Mayfield is better than Dixie. If Beechwood can't beat Dixie, they will need to figure some things out, make changes and get better if they want to beat Mayfield.

Dixie

People read too much into one game...or even one half.

I think a lot of it is from Dixie's lack of offense.

Drew Moore can run but was no passing threat at all

In the CCH game, pretty much like last year. Dixie also looked better defensively last year IMO but the season is still young.

About Drew, it is starting to look more and more that he peaked as a Sophomore. Just hasn't progressed the way many expected but it instill early and that can change.

No- they actually seemed to return a lot. Someone said 9 of 11 starters on defense. Not sure how many on offense but at least half(?)

I am not bashing the kid because I literally do not know which is why I am asking this question. I am being completely serious when I ask this question due to comments from other posters. But, what is Drew Moore's work ethic like from those who have watched him through the years both in season and in the off season. The only reason I ask is because some posters seem to think he may have peaked as a Soph. so I am just asking if he is a young man who works extremely hard or just let's the game come to him and was born with a lot of those abilities.

Again, not trying to start a bash session at all so please don't go that route. Just curious if there is more to be desired of the young man's work ethic. Some stud high school athletes know they don't have to work hard and they are just better than a lot of their competition and peers. Sorry if this seems mean of me, not the intention.

Who did dixie scrimmage and how did they do?

Edit: Actually found some threads that showed they scrimmaged Milford in lightening shortened game and Cooper. Unfortunately the posts were dominated by a fan from another Kenton County School.

IMO, the biggest question is can the receivers create separation and get open? In the few games I watched last year, they couldn't. Therefore, it didn't matter who was at qb.

I have heard Moore is being recruited as an athlete he will probably WR in college.

My prediction is that I'll be there at the game on the field cheering on the Colonels. Beyond that I have no prediction since I didn't see either of the week 1 games these two teams played.

Dixie dominated Cooper in that scrimmage. Given Cooper's results and Dixie's , I'm beginning to believe this is a down year for HS football in NKy for anyone not in Park Hills.
