I know Lex Cath could have played better, but I really dont think they expected Ben Holt to be such a terror for the. Sounds like he disrupted alot.

 

Big thing for me this game - QB Cambell Gott - No Mistakes! And Confidence abounds with a new favorite target in Camron Wallace for 3 TDs tonight. Huge!

 

Lastly I want to tell the Lex Cath faithful you are a classy group. This week has been really respectful and your fans I met last week were great. Best of luck to you guys the rest of this season!

First of all congrats to the Purples on a great game! Game was closer than the final score, JMO.

 

Catholic killed themselves with untimely penalties and redzone turnovers. I don't have the stats but I'd be surprised if we didn't outgain Bowling Green significantly. We clean up our mistakes and I won't be surprised if we win 4A. Jaylen Jones is a beast.

 

Even with LC's mistakes Bowling Green. Defense is nasty and offense does not make mistakes, loved your QB. I see them beating X next week and winning 5A.

I agree with Purple88. Your players played hard and never once threw in the towel despite those penalties. Just kept playing hard and keeping things close until the bitter end. Go far in the 4A playoffs!

 

That's got to be a record for TD receptions by a TE at BGHS...I don't know if his brother Ryan, who played at and is now a graduate assistant coach at WKU, did that for us!

 

I warned people about Jamale Carothers before the season. Last year, as a freshman, he had a 100 yard game in mop-up duty in one game! He's going to be quite the runner before he's through wearing Purple and Gold!

 

I was very proud of Campbell Gott's senior leadership and his near flawless game tonight. He keeps getting better each week, and that's what we want!

 

Next week, the Purples will be finally at home on the Hallowed Ground of Donaldson Stadium/Beard Field. However, I don't know how much of an advantage that will be since we are hosting St Xavier...! But I will say this: when you put on that Purple and Gold, you accept any challenge and you don't back down! You leave it all on the field when the final horn sounds! Sic 'em, Purple!!!:thumb:

Jaylen Jones had 22 carries for 181 yards. Reese Ryan was 19-33 with 2 picks for 200 yards and ran for Catholics 2 TDs. Don't have any receiving stats but I remember Jordan Hatton having a lot of catches.

 

Here's hoping senior DB Cody Mitchell and Junior linemen Colin Carpenter's injuries are not serious. They are both very important players for the Knights.

Hmmmm, I feel as if my prediction for LexCath was slightly off.

Bowling Green wins 46th in a row | Fields Notes

Just got in from game, wow! As impressive as our D was again (I knew the prediction of 42 points was ridiculous) I was more impressed with our Offense. Campbell couldn't have played any better. Our coaches do so well of schemes and mixing it up. No words to describe how good Holt is for us. He rushed Reece all night. Very impressive win for what seems to be so far a real "workhorse" team. Great win Purples!

Lex Cath is going to have to prove they can play defense against a good team, they couldn't do last year and they will have their hands full the next couple of weeks. Nobody duobts that Lex Cath can score, but can they stop anybody.

Congratulations to the Purples. They are not the same style team as last year but it looks like they have effectively reloaded and play to their strengths.

 

Wallace is a great TE. Built a lot like Sam Letton but probably a little taller and the same good hands. Those drag routes near the goal line were killers last night.

 

 

The game was much better than the final score shows. The LexCath defense was pretty good and did not give up a bunch of big plays. But BGs o-line did a super job in protecting the QB and he took advantage of it.

 

The play of the night for the Knights was Andy Thompson's long run for TD, that was called back. But he did a Houdini in the middle of that run that was so good the run still made the nightly news broadcast.
