Holmes Picks Up Transfer

Featured Replies

Was told today that Robert Tubbs, cousin of Bolden, is now at Holmes.

Played at Sycamore as a soph and Hargrave last year as a junior....5'11 G.

Not sure how good he'll be since I've got mixed reviews on him since he wasn't in the area last year but I guess it is worth mentioning.

Has the KHSAA ruled on eligibility? :D

Wow. Is he moving to Kentucky? He is a nice player. Bolden and Tubbs played on the same AAU team all through middle school and beginning of High School with Covington and Kunstek.

Really nice kid and good student, too.

I know it is early to talk basketball but Holmes will need all the help they can get. NCC is loaded.

You can never have too many guards.

From what I know...went to Sycamore. Had a tragedy within the family so moved to Hargrave then moved to Covington with his family when he came back to the area.

Have heard the same about him being a really good student and kid.

Is he related to the girl Tubbs who transferred to Holmes that is really good at basketball? I believe she came from Norwood.

Norwood.

I drove my college roommate and his family there in 1974 to visit some of their relatives. Only time I've ever seen a 5-way stop.

Tubbs is a great kid. He has an infectious smile.

He is a dynamic player... can take his man off the dribble, can make some spectacular passes, shoot the three and play some good defense... when he is under control. "Control" is the key word for him. He has the skill set to succeed and be a contributor for Holmes.

Didn't he play with Liam and Bo Schuh for Shining Stars last summer before leaving for Hargrave and VA?

Just noticed that he was a Division II First Team All Virginia Independent Conference selection this past season...same conference that Thon Maker plays in.

Averaged 11 ppg, 5 apg, and 2 spg last year.

Sounds like they just got it.

Yes, Tubbs played with Liam and Bo when Mitch Shover was the AAU coach.

Thought so...here is video of him from last summer before his jr year:

From the video he seems to have a nice handle, a little hot dog in him but looks like a solid addition. I would have liked to see more jumpers as it looks like an odd two handed release. Finishes well with the left.
