Kevin Durant to Under Armour for $300 Million?

Would put him behind only Kobe and LeBron in yearly shoe earnings!

Listening to KSR and they brought this up. UA has offered KD $300M over 10 years and he is considering the offer.

Considering???? He must have something in the works with Nike b/c 30mil/per is ridiculous not to jump on.

Nike is paying Kobe $34 per, how long does he have left? I think your correct that Nike may be working a bigger deal.

I saw that Durant would get equity in the Under Armor as well. They said getting equity in Under Armor is what got Tom Brady to join Under Armor. Also Under Armor is based in Maryland which is another thing in their favor to land Durant.

His shoes are very popular for Nike. I'm interested to see if Nike will counter this offer. If Under Armor can land Durant they'll likely pass Adidas as the #2 brand in basketball shoes.

Is Under Armour as popular with kids in basketball as it is in Football? I know when my son was playing everyone wanted Under Armour Football Gear because it was new and cool. Is it like that in Basketball too?

Two big things in their corner!

It's more popular every year. Under Armor is also making strides in AAU so adding Durant to the family would be huge for their credibility.

Well that's all it takes, you win the kid's it doesn't matter what the rest of us think.

KD's from the Baltimore area, UA is based in the Baltimore area and there are rumblings about him going to the Wizards with Wall/Beal when he becomes a FA.......conspiracy theories will explode.

UA basketball uniforms is just a step behind Nike.....but way to busy in their design.

Shoes are sub-par to say the least.

Been a huge UA fan since the brand started.

They need to step up their shoe game if they plan on being taken seriously.

I love the brand but can't make myself buy their shoes and I'm a sneaker freak (around 30 pairs in my closet right now.)

I agree ther shoes aren't very attractive but it won't matter if they can land Durant.

Not just his shoes, his gear in general is fairly popular. The KD shorts and t-shirts are becoming more prevalent. Nike has recently rolled out some backpacks with the KD branding. Pretty exclusive company in terms of the kind of branding he has right now.
