August 7, 201412 yr I"m going to make a lot of friends: Babies - they suck and you can't do anything with them. Crappy parents with kids in public - self-explanatory. Football - dominates sports coverage. Futbol - don't get it, never will. Olives - Gross Green Beans - Gross Drivers while cycling - if you want to hate your fellow man, ride a bike. The amount of rudeness and disrespect for cyclist' safety is crazy. Modern country music - Green beans for my ears. Christian music - universally they are musicians who can't cut it in the "real world". Feed into a already packaged audience. McDonald's - Gross Cubs fans - don't really mind their team, but their fans are impossible. I may come back with more later -- for the old-timers, remember the "hate threads" I started one day and they all disappeared with a server move overnight? To the bolded, I'd argue that cyclists are every bit as, if not more, rude to drivers than vice-versa.

To be fair, most drivers don't pay the first bit of attention to their surroundings, especially small, two-wheel, non-motorized vehicles. I would say most rudeness cyclists is a defense mechanism to get drivers to stop texting/talking on their phones and pay attention so they don't kill anybody.

How is a cyclist staying in the middle of the lane on a busy street, and not using the provided bike lane, a defense mechanism?
