August 4, 201412 yr Poor kid's getting an early look at the suckiness of the business side of the business. I would be completely crushed, and probably really upset to be denied the opportunity to play with a generational guy like LeBron. One of the ESPN writers I think on Grantland a few weeks ago said it's in Cleveland's interest to wait before trading for Love, possibly until Christmas or beyond. Why not see what happens when LeBron gets his version of Scottie Pippen? How freakin' amazing could that kid become from learning alongside the best player in the game for his formative years? Wow. I can't help but think Wiggins may be experiencing a massive "what if?" moment before he ever suits up for a regular-season game, and it could change the course of his career for the worse. August 4, 201412 yr Author Consider: Even if they don't trade for Love and Wiggins is a slow learner, they're still far and away the best team in the East now that George is sidelined. They can buy time and find an extra rebounder for the fraction of what it would cost for Love.
August 4, 201412 yr Big deal. Wiggins still has a long way to go to prove he would be as valuable as Love and don't forget Derrick Rose is back for the Bulls. I think the Bulls are a more formidable foe to Cleveland than the Pacers are when both teams are fully healthy. At this point I can't understand any logic for keeping Wiggins over Love. Give me proven over potential 8 days a week.

August 4, 201412 yr Author But do they have to rush? Love will probably still be there in 4 months if the Cavs don't make a move. Why not test-drive LeBron-Wiggins for a few months?

August 4, 201412 yr Author Because 4 months could still be fool's gold. I just don't think waiting is all that risky, and could be a great long-term payoff. What if you find out Love is a playoff choker and all the talk about him being nothing more than a stat-accumulator proves true? Full disclosure: I love Kevin Love's game. But I love the prospect of what Andrew Wiggins can become even more.
August 4, 201412 yr Personally, from even the beginning of his prefab letter release, LBJ had no intention of playing alongside Wig, mentoring him and nurturing him as we would like to think. He's smart enough to craft it that way and he wants to win now. PP92 is correct. As for Wig, I hope he goes to Minnesota, turns into a top 5 guy, leaves them high and dry on his second contract and ends up in Toronto where he's from anyway.
August 4, 201412 yr Wonder how Faried would do in Cleveland if the Love trade doesn't work out. Well, but they need someone to stretch the floor. That is not Faried.

This whole thing was premeditated from the start.
August 4, 201412 yr I could see it if they played different positions, but they play the same position! I know Lebron can play anywhere, but ideally both are 3's. Not sure how well it would work Wiggins at 2, Lebron at 3, Lebron needs shooters for spacing (Wiggins is not that). To me they are just far too similar and Lebron is the best player in the world right now, may as well pair him with as many elite players as you can. Love has elite skill and will compliment James' game much better than Wiggins. In theory it would be nice to see that athletic duo together but smart move is for Cleveland to bring in Love.
August 4, 201412 yr Lebron needs shooters for spacing (Wiggins is not that).. Wade was also not that. He was a scorer and solid defender.
August 4, 201412 yr I've never really bought into the Wiggins hype. He is really athletic and should have a long NBA career but he isn't a top 5 type of player IMO. I think you take Love over Wiggins all day long if you have that option.
