August 4, 201412 yr Wade was also not that. He was a scorer and solid defender. Right but that's where Chalmers, Ray Allen, Mike Miller, Battier, James Jones, Rashard Lewis, Bosh and those guys came into play. Cleveland doesn't have the shooters to surround him with, thus it is even more important to find a wing mate who can knock down the three ball. KI will be a perfect PG for that and right now Waiters is a much better shooter than Wiggins although Wiggins will ultimately be a much better player.

Ray may be on the way. So, the shooter argument doesn't wash.
August 4, 201412 yr I've never really bought into the Wiggins hype. He is really athletic and should have a long NBA career but he isn't a top 5 type of player IMO. I think you take Love over Wiggins all day long if you have that option. Me either.
August 4, 201412 yr I have not bought into the Wiggins hype either. I have never understood drafting on potential. When you have a top 10 pick, it should be based on production.
August 4, 201412 yr But do they have to rush? Love will probably still be there in 4 months if the Cavs don't make a move. Why not test-drive LeBron-Wiggins for a few months? Fools gold like PP92 said and the Wolves could trade Love somewhere else.

August 5, 201412 yr How long is a Rookie contract? 3-4 years. If I am a gm, my team needs to win now. I can't afford to draft on potential and hope he becomes a stud. What if he leaves after his first contract? How does that help my team?

His really high caliber years are all within this 3-4 year span.
