Warren would be interesting from a "high risk, high reward" angle. But, for her ubiquity in Democrats' campaigns this summer, she doesn't seem like she is doing any more than supporting other candidates. No fundraising, no PAC, no self-promotion.

There are plenty of Democrats who see it. I think there's a real concern as to how her particular brand of populism plays in a general election and whether her record (or lack thereof) in Washington is a problem. She's introduced a couple of big ideas that have gone absolutely nowhere in the senate. That could be a liability.

 

I'm not crazy about either one of them... but I can't think of the last time I was excited about a presidential candidate anyway.

 

This next election will be my eighth as an eligible voter, and I've been incredibly disappointed with the choices each and every time. I have an extreme love-hate relationship with national politics.

She's positioning herself for a Hilary loss and hard right sweep accompanying it in the Senate or House, or both. Warren's the 2020 "Change" candidate.

She's raised more than $1.2 million for Senate colleagues alone.

 

Sure, Warren will probably do multiple events with different candidates that cost a few thousand per plate, but Warren isn't known for her vast network of high-dollar donors.

 

She has a massive, deep fundraising network inside the Progressive base mostly consisted of small-dollar donors who are dedicated for Progressive causes. She set records in her bid for Senate when she raised more than $45 million, mostly from small-time contributors. Her 'Level the Playing Field' PAC raised more than $1.3 million.

 

As one of the articles say, most members of Congress aren't even capable of raising that kind of money. She's a favorite with left wing powerhouses like MoveOn.org or Organizing for Action (Obama's Network), Progressive Change Campaign Committee (who has raised an additional $1 million for Warren), and most hardcore womens groups.

 

You don't bring in those kind of numbers without building a solid structure through physical mail and email list building. Whether it's from appearances, or sending fundraising emails/letters to millions of proven dedicated Progressives who give money to multiple causes that Elizabeth Warren champions.

That's a super PAC. Warren's is a Leadership PAC. They play by different rules.

 

And if you're going to compare prospective candidates, you can't just compare PAC to PAC, let alone two PACs that are different.

 

If you compare network to network, Hillary certainly has the big-dollar donors on speed dial because, well she's Hillary Clinton. (George Soros being one of the 60 donors who gave a maxed-out $25,000 donation to Ready for Hillary, that's $1.5 million of the $4 million Ready for Hillary raised)

 

Warren on the other hand has access and the proven ability to motivate hundreds of thousands, if not millions of left-wing activists who give $5, $25, $50, or $100 to a particular cause/issue or general fundraising appeal. Obama was/is like that. If Warren decides to run for President, it's her biggest strength.

 

I don't even like Warren. But she fundraises like a complete boss. You cannot say she doesn't have an impressive network and structure.
