July 24, 201412 yr She's positioning herself for a Hilary loss and hard right sweep accompanying it in the Senate or House, or both. Warren's the 2020 "Change" candidate. Could be, although I can't see republicans having the senate in 2016.
July 24, 201412 yr The OP NYT article is just wishful thinking on the part of the liberals at the NYT. The nominees for the two major parties have not even been selected yet in many cases. Once the general campaigns heat up, Obama's failures will be front and center and Democrats, especially those to the left of Obama, will see their poll numbers plummet. There is very little chance that Elizabeth Warren, a/k/a Fauxahontas, will be a candidate for president in 2016, and if she is a candidate she will be a longshot to win. I don't think that Democrats have a viable candidate other than Hillary Clinton at this point and if she decides not to run, then she will be the king (or queen) maker in 2016. Nobody else has the organization in place to raise the money quickly enough to wage a competitive campaign. The only way that somebody other than Clinton can win, IMO, is if Hillary keeps the field clear of serious candidates until the spring of 2016 and then announces that she is withdrawing because of her poor health. That would shorten the campaign and offset the fund raising advantage that Republicans will almost certainly have.
July 25, 201412 yr Side note: Gov Perry once fondled my brother's beard. That elicited a WHAT!?!? from me. Way too weird and random to leave us hanging without an explanation. My brother lived in Austin. His wife was whatever title they called the Governor's wife's main person. So they often were at functions together and sometimes my bro would attend. My bro is in the movie business (behind the scenes) so he can look like whatever he wants. At the time he was rocking a BIG , thick, bushy beard. At the state house one night at a party, he and his wife were talking to Gov Perry and Mrs. Perry. In the middle of the convo, Gov Perry reached out and grabbed my bro's beard and commented on how thick it was. A little strange.
