Reds @ Brewers (July 21st - 23rd)

I wouldn't be against moving Cueto, if it meant they got 2-3 near MLB ready high level prospects in return, but would he command that?

I would think so, yes. They are talking about David Price commanding a King's ransom, and while Cueto isn't David Price, he isn't that far off. I just think Cueto's alleged age, delivery, and injury history make him a dangerous guy to build around as a #1 starter, so the Reds need to find a way to turn him into a stock-pile of talent.

I think if the Reds move Cueto, it will be based solely on financial considerations (i.e. the inability to re-sign both he & Latos). His age, delivery & so-called injury history are non-issues, in my opinion.

Trust me other GM's will use all those excuses when talking trade with Jocketty.

I believe the latter non-issues are what make them more want to sign Latos, or at least contribute to it. So in essence they do go hand-in-hand.

Now pitching for the Brewers, Sandy Koufax.

At least they finally got Cy Young off the bump

I don't think some of you realize how far offense in the MLB has fallen off. The League average in the NL for BA is .249

The team in 2nd place is hitting .258

Yeah thats been pretty well documented. Reds are .246 so fittingly just a little worse than average.

Right and that was with mainly healthy players so one would assume with this make shift lineup they are going to struggle to score runs. Not sure why this is a shock to you guys.

Yep. Exactly why they cannot make stupid mistakes.

Who said it was a shock? My point is since they aren't going to do much this year with this "make shift lineup", let's fix what ails the organization, thing long-term, and set this team up in a more effective fashion to win in 2015 and beyond.

The above posts lead me to believe it's a shock they aren't scoring runs. That wasn't directed at you. This team when healthy struggled to score so... I agree with you. I'd start by trading Chapman. He would be #1 on my trading block. I said that at the start of the year.

They could probably move Chapman for a top-tier prospect.

First team I'd call if I'm the Reds and were looking to deal either of them is the Dodgers. 4 Top 50 MLB prospects, 2 of which (Seager and Pederson) are position players. If you could turn either of them into 1 or 2 of those guys, it would be a huge haul. Dodgers may say thanks, but no thanks, but I'd at least make the call.

It's a cruel game. Rocket to left played perfectly. Hard ball up the middle that the pitcher slows down. Bad hop groundball that they were lucky to field.

Dodgers are definitely looking for pitching, and could afford one, or both players.
