Aaron Floyd's Waiver Denied

Featured Replies

A little bit of an overstatement, but Boone last year didn't count on anyone more than Aaron. He played multiple positions both ways. He is definitely the most important player on that roster. Wish him and Boone a very good luck this year.

A Floyd didn't do much playing QB last year and I think that is all he played most of the time

A Floyd is a DB, not an offensive threat.

Aaron Floyd is a senior, right? Does he have a D1 offer? Has he been contacted or told that a D1 school has interest? I am with Hellbird. I am not sure about the D1 hype. I wish him the best and hope he does end up D1, but it seems late in the hunt for that if there isn't interest.

I agree, if he doesn't already have a DI offer or interest, it's a little late in the game and playing Friday nights won't bring the recruiters in, he needed to do that at camps already.

I hope he has a great and memorable and fulfilled senior season.

Nope, not even close.

Personally, I think that is an elitist attitude that doesn't understand the first thing about most kids that play football for Boone County.

Careful RU. I know exactly the slippery slope you just went down with even a small innuendo of an elitist attitude someone from CCH may make. You are now forever branded as a CCH hater.

Playing QB last year was probably not very helpful to Aaron Floyd's aspirations to play at the next level. In fact, it could well be catastrophic. Playing out of position last year was very sacrificial. That is also something to consider for the Boone HC regarding reinstatement. I suspect that he and his family are desperate for highlight tape at his natural position and that may well have been motivation for the transfer.

No he isn't. Apples and pizzas.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news for some, but there is nothing D1 about Aaron Floyd. He's an NAIA player and there is nothing wrong with that. If you're a D1 caliber athlete it will show no matter where you are. He's not that tall, fast or physical to be a D1 safety. But he's a great kid that followed some terrible advise. Just because he was great in youth leave doesn't mean it will translate to high school success. Aaron peaked early and really needs to cross his fingers that Boone's coach will have him back.

It is about time someone got to the crux of the matter. Post #275 is the winner.

Isn't that a good thing?

I hope the kid plays somewhere. But to be honest, if I was a teammate, my reaction would be he's only coming back because he wasn't allowed to stay at the transferred school. I probably wouldn't be as chummy as I was before. However, you know what they say, winning cures all ills.

Why wouldn't you be "chummy?" If you were friends before you're friends now.

Well, in my teenager mind I would be concerned that he considered my teammates and I not good enough for him. You know, kind of turned his back on us. That's just me.

Totally agree, him playing QB was a set back for him. I understand the coaching staff wanting to put the ball in their best athletes hands every play but he is a RB/DB and a very good one.
