2008 Madison Southern lead McCreary Central 35-0 at start of 4th Qt. Watts, Roark and crew stormed back to win on a 2pt. conversion at end of 4th qt. 36-35 has to be one of the biggest come from behind victories in Ky, Football History.

As a Cov Cath fan, I am biased, but the greatest comeback I ever saw was the 1997 Mud Bowl in Ft. Thomas. Highlands had completely dominated the first half. before going to their locker room at halftime. CCH went to the North endzone in the pouring rain.

Highlands returned to the field in fresh, clean, dry uniforms to start the 3rd quarter and proceeded to try to score 100 points. In the process, they allowed the Colonels from Covington Catholic to steal victory.

Greatest comeback. That's the greatest I ever saw.

I can't remember the year but Trinity @ the Manual Mausoleum. The Rams had a 10 point lead late in the 4th quarter and had been running the ball very effectively against Trinity all night. Instead of grinding it out and running the clock they throw a deep pass that was picked. Trinity scored quick and failed to recover the onside kick. Manual again gets away from what got them the lead and tries to throw the ball and again it's picked deep in Trinity's territory. With just seconds left Trinity goes deep to Steve Orndorf who outruns the Manual secondary to score the winner. After the game the Manual student section basically blocked the gate off the field and and out of the stadium. Trinity had to stay on the field for almost 20 minutes while the Manual administration dispersed their crowd for fear of altercations.

That was 2005. I remember Orndorf also broke like two tackles right after he caught it on his race to the end zone. Heck of a game. I really didn't think they would come back after Petrino threw that pick 6 at the 15 to put us down by 10 in the 4th.

I remember one game between Boyle and Central once where Boyle took a commanding lead and Central stormed back only to fall short at the end. Maybe it was 2003 or so? Anyone remember?

2004. Boyle 54. Central 43.

Here are a few of my favorites from my Trinity Football Archives:

November 1985: Trinity scores 17 unanswered points in the second half erasing a 14-0 halftime deficit versus St. Xavier in the state semi-finals before 16,662 at the old Cardinal Stadium.

September 1989: Trinity scores 15 points in the final 6 minutes to defeat Bobby Redman's Waggener Wildcats 22-18 before 4,000 at Trinity.

Two weeks later, the Rocks scored 14 fourth quarter points to down the Tigers 14-7 before 23,800 at the KFEC.

November 10, 1994: Trinity tallies 13 points in the last 66 seconds to defeat Central 19-12 in the second round of playoffs. I remember well some of the Central faithful taunting the Trinity fans in the end zone of the Kentucky Fair and Exhibition Center stadium. This was just before the Yellowjackets punt team self destructed. Shamrock LB Reggie White returned a blocked punt and a snap over the head of the punter for the two touchdowns.

Great choices.

The second game was the second most heartbreaking game I have ever attended. The Knights stopping Boyle on 4th and 1 was insane. What a game.

LexCath vs Boyle games always seem to be classics. Only twice in the series has a game been one sided.

How much were they down? What a great game.

I believe it was 28-6 at the half. That halftime locker room "talking-to" on the Cov Cath side of things was absolutely unforgettable.

Pretty sure CovCath scored right before half to make it 28 - 14. At that point, you could feel the momentum shifting.

Absolutely correct. You could ask anyone who was in Cov Cath's locker room at the half - we knew we were going home with a W that night.

After trailing 21-0 in the 3rd quarter, the Conner Cougars came back to steal one on the road at Campbell County 35-28 during the 2012 season. The Cougars scored with about 7 seconds remaining to seal the deal. Fun game to watch.
