I'm keeping it strictly based on conversations here. I try not to deal with media and social media that much because of the direction of the conversations in those platforms. We have quite a bit of dialogue on BGP that can be used to support points.

July 17, 201412 yr Am I brave for announcing publicly that I am a heterosexual? Today it isn't looked upon negatively to be gay as it was 30 years ago. Nothing brave in my mind what he did. This is true in the real world, where most of us work. I'd imagine this isn't true in an NFL locker room. Or any male locker room for that matter.

I think we all agree that liberals consider conservative "ignorant" if they disagree with homosexuality and conservatives consider liberals "immoral or influenced by the media" if they support the homosexual movement. Each side has a way of classifying the other. I have conservative preacher friends that consider me as "going to the dark side" when I discuss my opinion on this issue and have liberal preacher friends that consider me "ignorant on this issue" when I discuss my exact same opinion. Unfortunately only a small number of preacher friends agree. It makes me feel like forrest gump when he tries to board the bus as a child.

July 17, 201412 yr It took a lot of courage for Sam to come out. Sam seems fitting for the award from my perspective. Beyond that, Sam tends to turn me off a little but I certainly believe in second and third chances. At the end of the day, Sam better be able to play in the NFL. From all his qualities as a "player", (because that is all that matters at the end of the day, not all the other stuff) sure seems to lend one to believe he will have no problem playing. But God forbid if he can't and doesn't make it.

But God forbid if he can't and doesn't make it. Well, to be honest, he will be bucking the averages if he DOES make it, as the vast majority of 7th rounder's on average don't.
July 17, 201412 yr Yeah, that must be it. If a person belittles and put downs homosexuality or homosexuals, those names suit them. People are more than capable of disagreeing with the lifestyle while still respecting those who are homosexual.
