July 17, 201412 yr I didn't watch the ESPY's last night' date=' but I watched that entire segment this morning (Watch Stuart Scott's powerful speech about his battle with cancer - SBNation.com) and the result was me sitting at my desk, my office door closed, and tears pouring down my face. If that speech doesn't in some way inspire you to be better, to care more, to try harder, then I just can't understand you. I've never been the biggest fan of on-air Stuart Scott, but a bigger fan in life he couldn't have than me moving forward. Like you I did not watch last nite. Caught it on my phone this morning outside of Circle K. Cashier looked at me funny why my eyes looked funny when buying my morning Pepsi.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but how can the best female athlete not be the best female athlete in her sport? Just silly show if you ask me. July 17, 201412 yr Sure there's some self serving, some grandstanding, bad acting, poor jokes. Seems we get those in EVERY awards show regardless of genre. 2 things I liked: 1. Peyton Manning does it right. Thanks all the right people, cordial, to the point, off the stage. He gets it, no matter if you like the cat or not. 2. Loved Stu Scott's speech, and just looking at his thin frame makes me get queezy. It was the best part of the night.

July 17, 201412 yr Author It was a female cage fighter. She couldn't accept the award because she got surgery the day before. If I remember right, Serana Williams wasn't even a finalist/nominee. It was Maya Moore, player for UConn, cage fighter and I think the fourth was a skier.
