Anyone watching?

Girlfriend is working late and I don't feel like watching a movie, so I might for a little while. We'll see how long I last.

Drake is hosting.

Drake giving UK and Coach Cal some big props before saying UCONN won the title.

ESPY's are awful. Complete jock-sniffing, ESPN self aggrandizing, garbage. We already know who won the Super Bowl, who got MVP, etc. Terrible.

I challenge you to say that again after seeing the part they just did about Josh Sweeney who lost both of his legs serving our country and then went on to win a gold medal in the Para-Olympics in what is the equivalent of their hockey.

I've enjoyed the ESPY's tonight. Drake has been better than I expected. The Blake/Drake skit was great.

I enjoyed the Michael Sam backstory also.

I did as well. Didn't know most of that.

Very powerful speech by Stuart Scott. It's tough to give a speech when accepting an award, especially one that is named after someone who gave one of the best acceptance speeches of all time, but Stuart Scott definitely crushed it.

These were the best ESPY's in recent memory. I thought Drakes monologue was awful but i did like the Lance cam. He was great te rest of the show IMO. All of the special awards were awesome, choked up quite a bit during Stuart Scott's speech.

Drake may be the worst host of any award show ever and the Espy's may be the worst awards show ever.

What made him the worst host ever? I thought he did a great job. He pulled no punches and he made fun of himself and his bandwagoning persona. He has some corniness to him but to me he was no worse than Seth Myers. I like when the hosts make fun of the people and he did that plenty last night. Kind of like Chris Rock at the BET Awards. Nobody was safe.

The Honorable Mention song and the Side Pieces song were excellent.

I didn't watch the ESPY's last night, but I watched that entire segment this morning (Watch Stuart Scott's powerful speech about his battle with cancer - SBNation.com) and the result was me sitting at my desk, my office door closed, and tears pouring down my face. If that speech doesn't in some way inspire you to be better, to care more, to try harder, then I just can't understand you. I've never been the biggest fan of on-air Stuart Scott, but a bigger fan in life he couldn't have than me moving forward.

The joke about the racist owner for the Redskins was the start, he isn't a comedian but tries to be and that didn't help him the rest of the way. Bad show all together. I tried to watch but got really tired of

1. Contradictory category winners...I will explain at the end of this post what I mean.

2. Every time someone won and the camera panned the audience, every athlete sitting in the audience looked ticked off/ bored, not a smile in the entire place it seemed like. It's as if they were there just for the after parties and the show itself was an inconvenience for them.

3. Every year the show simply feels like a self promotion for everything ESPN.

Nah, didn't like Drake as host, didn't like the show at all, I did enjoy the Stuart Scott speech which I watched this morning, but the rest of the show just wasn't very entertaining at all. Drake felt like he was forcing everything when he was trying to tell jokes live. His skits he filmed earlier were ok but then again they weren't live and he could re-do the bad takes etc.

I will give you a perfect example of how bad the actual awards are.

The Best Female athlete was Serrena Williams....ok I will bite, why?

But that isn't the worst part...the best female Tennis Player went to Maria Sharapova

Huh? Correct me if I'm wrong, but how can the best female athlete not be the best female athlete in her sport?

Just silly show if you ask me.
