The problem was playing time and not the religious references IMO. I guess that Nate's mistake was putting down the reference in writing. Yes, it is my understanding that the actual reason for the suspension by the superintendent was the religious reference that was given in writing to more than just the player whose parents filed the greivance.

 

Just some friendly advice. If your kid's not playing enough, he's probably not doing something right.

 

He may have the talent but not the knowledge, he may have the knowledge but not the talent. The thing that makes me laugh is that parents think that a coach will sit a kid that could be "helping" his team. Okay, as much emphasis that's put on winning at the high school level you really think the coach is going to sit someone that will help his team win? If you think that, you're just finding something to complain about. I'd rather have one out of touch parent complaining about their kid than 10 realistic parents complaining about their team.

Ryle needs to shoot over 55%, have CovCath on a off night, beat the press, play their best game of the year, avoid scoring droughts and perhaps enjoy some divine intervention. A major upset could be pulled only if all the above listed things take place. CovCath is the best team in the 9th right now but I never say never in sports!

Or maybe he/she has the talent and the knowledge but not the work ethic. I know of a parent that was complaining about playing time of their child. And then they got to watch practice and commented that they now know why their child wasn't playing, they were lazy in practice.

Please parents step out of the way and leave the coaches alone.

Rumor is that a parent has been out to get the coach all year. This parent and the son had a bad experience earlier in the year, and just got an opportunity to get the coach right before the district championship. The coach typed up a motivational paper, which included religous references. This paper was obtained by the parent who took it to the superintendent forcing him to suspend the coach.

He was suspended for religous references? WOW, you would think it would have been something like foul language in the material! If that is the case that is unbelievable!! And shame on parents who have to try to live their lives through their kids and can not support the coach!!

Considering the cause of Nate's suspension, I would assume this may be out of the question

The divine intervention was the half court swish at the buzzer. The other 5 factors did not pan out.
