Just always yapping at someone, his whole career. Louisville, NBA, etc. Dude makes a shot and wants to tell everyone about it, every, single, time. Hitting a big shot and reacting is fine, but so is scoring and acting like you've done it before. Half the dude's highlight tape (Ex. B) is him jawing after he hits a spot up 3 and most of the rest is hugging teammates. Yes, Francisco, the world saw you hit that huge 3 to break the Nets' back at 1 am on NBA League Pass-- raise the roof. Dude is Joakim Noah level annoying with his celebrations.

Dirty, I really don't blame him for. He's a skinny stretch four on offense that has to matchup with guys he's giving up lots of size to. Lots of grabbing, holding, elbows, etc. He's not in the NBA if he's not dirty. Doesn't mean I liked it when he was playing for a rival.

If I were on the other team, I'd want to save one of my fouls just to use on him the next trip down after he'd gotten into someone's face after hitting a spot up shot when they were laying off of him to collapse on someone else.

I'm not really sure how you say he's anything but dirty. Legitimately one of my least favorite U of L players of all time. I really don't like him.

Always being involved in this kind of stuff that's just trying to be irritating, the kind of "stick my foot out so someone comes down on it" junk, and hardly ever enough to get a T after the whistle. Regardless, he'll keep it up until it gets noticed and then backing out of it and playing innocent:

"It started early in the second quarter with Durant playing at a ridiculously high level, even for him. At one point he was beating the Rockets by himself, 20-19. Overall the score was 44-19, and it was 50-24 when Houston moved Garcia to Durant and Garcia did something that changed the game. It happened away from the ball, but I saw it. If you have the game on DVR, see it yourself. Someone else from the Thunder was bringing up the ball -- I didn't see who; I was watching Durant -- when Garcia started thumping him in the chest with his forearm.

It wasn't awful. It wasn't clean, wasn't nice, but it wasn't terrible. It was a foul, had the referees been watching, but it wasn't worth a flagrant or a technical. It was irritating, and Durant got irritated."

In recent memory Garcia was probably my most disliked Cardinal. I just remember him constantly shrugging his shoulders and lifting his hands in disbelief any time a whistle was called on him. Peyton Siva was always fun to poke at, but I never disliked him. Mainly because I felt until his senior year he was a lot more of a liability on the floor than a positive.

More Garcia being a punk. Move through a screen, bump Ibaka after the whistle, then throw your hands straight up.

'Physical' - I'm going to block you out hard, fight over screens, and you could say that if this were football, I'd be playing to the whistle.

'Dirty' - I'm going to try to make a shooter come down on my foot, I'll hit in the kidneys when the ref isn't looking, etc.

Taquan Dean is physical. Francisco Garcia is dirty.

I don't get the hate towards Luke from so many people...

Unless it's because his slow white boy game is better than yours. :lol2:

Reminds me of the JJ Redick hate.

Beau Zack Smith = Gimel Martinez

His name is Beau Zack? That's so awesome. :lol2:

Good call, very similar.

Definitely has solid old man game that really surprises from time to time. If I were an opposing fan, then that two-hands-on-the-hip defense would drive me crazy. I'd also hate watching him draw those same NBA-looking fouls on shots over and over again. It's crafty, but as an opposing fan you just have to hate it.

I'm still waiting on Randy to start the "Most Hated Dayton Flyers" thread.

Perhaps it's our 1st round NBA draft pick can't guard your slow white boy mentality.

Those guys? They're all so darned likable!
