July 8, 201412 yr Dunn moved into 35th place on the all-time HR list last night passing Yaz while playing in Boston. He now has 453. He is now chasing Jose Canseco who has 462. Dunn will be example #1 for the theory that you cannot win without strong pitching. 453 is 453. Legit.

July 8, 201412 yr The Sox need to get rid of him. Teams seem to do better once he has moved on... Well maybe not AZ. They were good when he showed up. Then they weren't...
July 8, 201412 yr Really amazing that ever team that he has played for has had lousy pitching... Must just be the most unlucky guy ever. :lol2:

July 8, 201412 yr Never got the credit he deserved for being a homerun hitter. He was not a great fielder, in fact borderline bad. However, 453 bombs. How many players in Reds History have hit that many? He was a good player on bad teams. Period.
July 8, 201412 yr I have an alert on my computer, that sounds loudly when someone post a positive message about the Donkey. I can't post what the alert says though. I haven't looked in years but I believe many of his offensive stats compare favorably to Johnny Bench, my favorite all time Red.
July 8, 201412 yr I have a $100 bet I made with a friend what had to be 10 years ago now that says that Dunn will be a HOF'er. If dude gets to 600 HR, how do you keep him out?

Do you really think that's going to happen? Dude needs to get to 30 this year (on pace for 24), and then have 4 more seasons of 32+ HRs a year to get there. He's 34 already. I'd be shocked if he's around more than another season or two.
July 8, 201412 yr ^ What about 550? Think that's enough? No idea. I wouldn't put him in with 600 though so I'm not the right person to ask.
