Mo Egger talked about this on the air a while back. 500 clean home runs, in this era, will get him a LOT of votes. You know BBWA writers are dying to put in a clean home run hitter from this era. If he gets to 600 he walks in with bells on. 500 will probably get in eventually....550+ I think puts him in quickly.

July 8, 201412 yr I'd be shocked if he's around more than another season or two. Why? He can DH, hit against righties only, make $8-10 per, and hit 25 bombs for another 5 years. Why not? He did an interview recently in Chicago where he said his next deal, the only thing that matters is going to a team where he can win -- it clearly eats him up that he hasn't been on a team (his fault or otherwise) that has made the post-season. My hunch is he has one Beltran-esque post-season series at some point and the entire narrative on him flips nearly overnight.

I just don't think Dunn has the desire to hang around well past his prime for the sake of a paycheck or stats. JMO. Maybe he'll do it to try and win, but if he goes somewhere that's close, I doubt he'll see everyday action.

July 9, 201412 yr 600 is a long way from 442, if he gets there he's in, deservedly so. I disagree. First, I do not think he will get that many. Second, 550 or 600 Home runs and a .230 average and one of the worst K rates in the history of baseball and a defensive disaster does not make a HOF player.

Ten non juiced players in history have hit 550 home runs. I think that puts him in. 600 would be a lock but I too don't think he will get there.
