July 9, 201412 yr Whether any of the 3 guys COULD make the catch, they at least have to look like they WANT to make the catch. If it's Frazier, Cozart and Schumaker in the same situation, I'm fairly confident at least 1, and maybe all 3, at least get their uniform dirty!!! Also, was at the game so didn't see the replay. Was Pena running full tilt out of the box? Even injured, I can't imagine why he is not standing on 2B when the play is over. Ball was hit pretty high and even bobbled after they eventually got to it. Runner on 2B with no outs is MUCH better situation than 1B with no speed on the bases OR in the batters box. Of course, Meso makes that a moot point with a clutch hit. On the replay, it was fairly evident that the 3B peeled off quickly, meaning someone called for it. Don't know who it was, but somebody said something that got him out of there. Usually the SS would have prerogative over the 3B in that situation, and the LF would have it over both the SS and 3B, so it's hard to tell. My guess, going on how he played the field in other situations, is that the LF called for it at the last second and then realized he couldn't get to it.
