Opie and Anthony host Anthony Cumia goes on racist twitter tirade

Featured Replies

And then his twitter fans jumped in with even more hateful and racist comments. If I get permission I'll post the link.

Use google to find the links and in depth story.

He was taking pictures of NYC and a woman objected to being in his picture. Words were exchanged and she ended up hitting him. After that 5 black men jumped in and attacked him also. When it was over he took to twitter and proceeded to label them as animals and many other foul foul words. Once his fans saw the tweets they jumped in and it is just an ugly ugly situation.

Few points .

1. Not going to lie I do listen to this show sometimes because they have quality comedians on as guests all the time.

2. Racism is never justified.

3. If someone responds in a manner like this in the heat of the moment after being jumped do they get any wiggle room ? It's not for me to decide. But after that situation and anger flowing threw you, a lot of people may react in a way they normally wouldn't.

4. Ugly situation

3. I'd give wiggle room if they can admit they said stupid things in the heat of the moment. I'm not sure if he has done that yet.

Agreed. The comment " They aren't People" or something of that regard made me cringe. Anger is understood but you need to be able to understand what you are saying. It's why you can't ever post on social media when you you are angry.

I want to be clear I don't justify anything and I hope he comes out and apologizes.

I don't know if you have every listened to the show it does get racial at times. It's a comedy show. Before the late great Patrice O'Neal passed away he was a regular on that show and man were there some funny racial segments. A situation likes this makes me miss Patrice because he would of rode Anthony to the ground the very next show for his twitter explosion.

He was fired up and should have stayed away from social media. I don't think he should get a free pass though

Never listened to these guys...heard of them...but never listened to them.

I've never heard of this guy, and I'm in no way justifying what this lady or the others that followed her did, but I can see why the woman was upset about the picture. There is no way he was taking a picture of anything but her. Seriously, what is he trying to say he was taking a picture of?

In what I read, he used vulgar language. I did not see where he used any ethnic, unacceptable words. I may have missed them. He called them animals, but that could be used to refer to any group that beat you up. If he did use any ethnic words to slur these individuals, then it is on him. If he did not, this just seems like more political correctness.

What do you think he meant by this tweet? 778b9146fb96d778a81b56aebc4d75d2_normal.jpeg Anthony Cumia@AnthonyCumia Follow Then she punched me 5 more times. She's lucky I was a white legal gun owner or she'd be dead. Then 5 blacks started giving me ****! What difference did it make what color the woman or the 5 other people giving him crap were?

So it has to be a slur for there to be racial intent? Are you suggesting the shock jock who has shown that he knows the boundaries of race didn't know what he was implying when he sent those tweets out? Did you see what his fans said to him in response? They caught the implications of his tweets.

If people behave like animals, then I see no issue in calling them animals, regardless of what color they are. As for Opie and Anthony, I have never listened to their show and have never been tempted to listen to them. I would not be surprised if the woman was provoked, but if not then she is lucky that she did not get herself and a friend or two shot.

Yikes! There show is Ok but I'd rather listen to Ron and Fez any day. Anthony has always been hot tempered and says vulgar stuff...so I'm not surprised at all he did this.

He was describing the situation. I do not see racism in everything. I will grant you that what you say may be possible, but how do you describe any situation without all the proper info?

"She's lucky I was a white legal gun owner or she'd be dead" is describing the situation?
