June 27, 201412 yr I had the Fi-copper from Bell when they first rolled it out in our neighborhood a few years ago. As Bench said, the internet was fantastic but the TV was the worst product I've ever seen. Have had DirecTV ever since and am extremely happy.
June 27, 201412 yr mismanaged or not, they have an extremely good product with FiOptics, I've had it well over two years and its the best home service I've ever had, by far! If they paid me I wouldn't use Zoomtown or anything else they offer, but Fioptics is killer. I've been praying for Fioptics internet to get to my neighborhood soon. Zoomtown sucks. I have a brand new Apple latpop and it's slow as hell.
June 27, 201412 yr 30MB sounds like overkill for most. No? Yes for most no doubt :lol2:. I stream, game and download constantly while at home. I could probably drop to 20 MB but for a 10 dollar jump up to the 30 MB it is worth it to not worry about it.
June 27, 201412 yr Let's not confuse MB's with Mb's here, big difference. Posting from phone. Auto-corrects is every time.

I could probably drop to 20 MB but for a 10 dollar jump up to the 30 MB it is worth it to not worry about it. Gotcha. I use their slowest speed and it's perfect for me. Unlike some I have no issues with their TV service other than a problem I had with the DVR.
May 29, 201511 yr Thinking about making the switch from TWC now that FiOptics is in Newport. Any new updates on how the service has been of late???
May 29, 201511 yr On the phone with them weekly because of loss of signal. Resetting the table top box is a pain. DVR'd stuff has really bad sound quality...they are still trying to figure it out . My $120 month is now $240. About to begin the annual fight with them on why they offer a particular price and jack up the rates when we were 'locked in' per their sales guy. I despise them. Really need to switch to something else.
May 29, 201511 yr I've been with them for 4-5 years now and no real problems. Had some issues with the picture freezing but I rebooted the dvr and no problems since.
May 29, 201511 yr Thinking about making the switch from TWC now that FiOptics is in Newport. Any new updates on how the service has been of late??? I live in Southgate and still have yet to have an issue with them. About once a month I've had internet go out for about 15 minutes but it's been around 2-3 at night when it happens. I'm still overall very satisfied with them. Never had an issue with their HD Tv or DVR service either.
May 29, 201511 yr Ever since Verizon has purchased their wireless division that's where they have focused. They dumped quite a bit of cash they gained from Verizon into their fioptics line and it's still improving.
May 29, 201511 yr Thinking about making the switch from TWC now that FiOptics is in Newport. Any new updates on how the service has been of late??? I've had no issues since my initial problem with the box they installed. Once I got it replaced everything has been fine. Make sure the rate they quote is for 12 months. Be prepared to negotiate it after 12 months when they try to take you to their "standard" rates. I had a detailed offer from TWC in my hands. Bell locked in my rates for another 12. No service is perfect but this has been pretty stable for me.
May 29, 201511 yr Agree with Clyde on holding the rates. It's an annual thing with me, hold the rates or lose me. It's a pain.

May 29, 201511 yr No matter what service you get, you have to play the rate game. Yes indeed, I just had to play it with Time Warner. My "promotion" ran out and my bill jumped like $60/month. I called them with the fioptics offer in hand and they matched for another 12 months. I had fioptics prior to TW and I believe the internet speed is far superior with fioptics but the tv both quality and channel packages are better with TW.
