Bill Maher...The President is a drop dead Atheist

Featured Replies

Sorry but if you believe intelligent people don't truly believe, then you are not nearly as smart as you believe yourself to be.

Didn't say that at all. James Earl Carter is a very smart man.

Of course, so was Marshall Applewhite.

I sure hope for all of these brilliant minds that the whole "every knee shall bow" thing is a falsehood. Otherwise, well, that gate is wide they say.

You think so?

It takes an atheist to know one, so I don't doubt he isn't right about Obama.

I've watched his show many times. He's fairly entertaining and his panel discussions are often times fairly entertaining -- at least when there are differing opinions and it's not just four people patting each other on the back for being so wonderfully progressive.

But he's a buffoon.

I'd love to see a network put Bill Maher and Dennis Miller on a show together...kinda like the old Hannity and Colmes and let them just go at each other.

Welcome everyone to HBO's first annual Smarm-Off!

I loathe Maher. His guests are generally better than the cable shows, but they still bend toward the hackish.

Of course they do. They're always either a party strategist or someone who writes for a partisan website trying to make a name himself. Nonetheless, I find it enjoyable. It's probably the most detestable part of my political education, but I watch Maher through the same lens as MTV's The Challenge... I'm ashamed, but it's not going to stop me watching it...

I enjoy Maher for the same reason I enjoy Bill O'Reilly. Both are really talented at their trades and I can appreciate that.

The Challenge is just bad television and it took me until the age of 29 to stop watching ;)

I think I need to reward myself in some way for not knowing what the Challenge is. :lol2:

I don't watch Maher very often, but I wonder how he gets guests. I'd hate to get tied to a lot of what he says. Sort of like Howard Stern for politics geeks.

Same here. Maher's first show that I remember was on ABC & though I disagree with him on just about everything, I enjoyed that show. Can't remember the name of it though.

Or you have some SERIOUS catching up to do... 25 seasons, bro. Watching the Real World isn't necessary, but going forward, you're going to want to do that in order to know which rookies seem like they might be the best potential selections for your Challenge Fantasy League.
