And this is why I wouldn't vote for Chris Christie

God forbid they be real people.

Agreed.

Curse you, Bill Clinton! Because of you, every political candidate now thinks he/she is an entertainer as well. I do not want to see my President, congressman, governor, etc... dancing in a skit on the Tonight Show. I cannot take you seriously after your appearance(s).

This is not THE reason that I will never vote for Christie, but I will add it to my long list of reasons. Christie is a bully and he is a liberal. He has no chance of winning the presidency as a Republican.

Christie isn't my first choice. But I hate when people call other republicans liberals. He isn't conservative across the board but it doesn't make him a liberal. As goveneror he took one of the most conservative approaches the North East has ever seen when it comes to economics and it worked. He isn't perfect but calling him a liberal is silly.

I agree 100% with you. And it's why I hope he runs for POTUS. Although I don't agree 100% with him across the board, his actions have logic beyond the normal partisan reasons. I feel he looks beyond the party lines to find solutions.

There is a reason why so many liberals like Christie.

A moderate Republican would never have been elected governor of New Jersey. Christie's bullying of a few union leaders was entertaining but it did not transform him into a conservative. If it makes you feel better to consider Christie a moderate or even a flawed conservative, then so be it.

As for me, I will continue to consider Christie a liberal and I have already voted for my lifetime quota of liberal and moderate conservative Republicans. If the national Republican party wants my votes in the future, then it can start by ending its war on conservatives.

I know little about Christie, but him dancing on a talk show wouldn't stop me from voting for him. Clinton playing the sax was pretty good! It shows they are real people.

I do like how after the hurricane he stood up with Obama in attempt to help the victims.

You are talking to someone most people on here would consider a conservative and I am on economics. As big as a conservative when it comes to economics on this board. To not applaud what Christie did from an economic standpoint is holding a grudge. Sure I can point to some things I disagree with him on . Sure I want Rand Paul first and foremost because I think he is the best maim stream libertarian voice this country has seen in decades.

But when it's all said and done you can't call Christie a liberal. You can say he is not as conservative as you would like which is fine but that is a far stretch from being a liberal. Unless you are working with a definition of liberal I haven't heard. There are essentially two types of liberals in today's political game . There is the classic liberal which today is known as a libertarian which is where Rand Paul falls. Then there is a modern liberal which makes up a large portion of the democrat leadership . Which calls for big government to solve all our economic and social ills. I personally can't see how anyone up on the issues could put Christie in either category.

That photo op sealed the election for the President also.

That is where most the anger comes from conservatives. I understand both sides. But I think my fellow republicans need to get over it he did what was best for New Jersey. Deep down I wish he handled it different but I get it.

True, he was working for the residents of New Jersey not the GOP or the rest of the country and did what he thought he had to do to curry favor from the President and get $$$ rolling to NJ.
