You are talking to someone most people on here would consider a conservative and I am on economics. As big as a conservative when it comes to economics on this board. To not applaud what Christie did from an economic standpoint is holding a grudge. Sure I can point to some things I disagree with him on . Sure I want Rand Paul first and foremost because I think he is the best maim stream libertarian voice this country has seen in decades.

 

But when it's all said and done you can't call Christie a liberal. You can say he is not as conservative as you would like which is fine but that is a far stretch from being a liberal. Unless you are working with a definition of liberal I haven't heard. There are essentially two types of liberals in today's political game . There is the classic liberal which today is known as a libertarian which is where Rand Paul falls. Then there is a modern liberal which makes up a large portion of the democrat leadership . Which calls for big government to solve all our economic and social ills. I personally can't see how anyone up on the issues could put Christie in either category.

 

Christie has very liberal tendencies.

 

He supports one gun a month laws, a liberal favorite. He's opposed to permit conceal and carry laws in New Jersey.

 

He supports state and federal funding of abortion-on-demand.

 

He supports and embraces ObamaCare and medicaid expansion.

 

He supports NSA spying methods and metadata collection and said opposing such methods is a "dangerous thought."

 

He support the PATRIOT Act.

 

He was quick to demand the Pork-filled Emergency funds after the hurricane.

 

 

What is conservative about him? He supports liberal policies in a lesser degree.

Moody's downgrades NJ debt as Christie's budget problems grow

 

TRENTON — Another Wall Street rating agency — Moody’s Investors Service — has downgraded New Jersey’s debt and is sounding the alarm about the state’s "lagging economic performance."

 

It was the third ratings cut this year for New Jersey, the sixth downgrade since Gov. Chris Christie took office, and the latest sign that the Garden State’s ailing fiscal condition is taking a turn for the worse.

 

Moody’s action comes two weeks after the Christie administration disclosed an $807 million shortfall in the state budget, which the Republican governor is scrambling to plug before the fiscal year ends June 30.

I will not be comfortable voting for any Democrat, Chris Christie, or Jeb Bush in 2016. I am tired of choosing the lesser of two evils, and then watch evil win anyway. Christie and Bush agree with Obama and the liberals on too many issues - and by too many issues - I mean immigration reform. I will not vote for the continued destruction of my own country.

I already liked him and this just put him over the top for me. I love the "God forbid they be real people" statement. Spot on.

True, he was working for the residents of New Jersey not the GOP or the rest of the country and did what he thought he had to do to curry favor from the President and get $$$ rolling to NJ.
