Question about UK summer Trip

Featured Replies

It's smart to schedule these trips. Bonding experience for the team to develop chemistry and they get extra practice too, don't they?

Indeed they do to prepare for the games. I think something like 10 practices but no clue why that number is coming to mind.

Also from KSR:

Andy Katz is reporting that North Carolina, Ohio State, Pitt, Cincinnati, and possibly Ole Miss are also doing a trip to the Bahamas around the same time, but none of the teams will play each other.

They all can go unless there is an eligibility question. They'll be lucky to finish .500 on this trip. That's no cake walk.

Look at the other teams that's going schedules. None of them are playing anyone,, gym league teams. UK is playing national teams. Will be great for them,, and yea they will be lucky to finish 500.

The DR senior national team beat the UK legends handily a few years ago. That was Wall, Cousins, etc. etc.

Are any BGPers plan on going with the team? If I hadn't already planned/booked some stuff, I'd look into it.

Going with my Dad and brother. Just booked it tonight while we were all together for Father's Day.

That's awesome! Did they have any all-inclusive packages?

Tickets, hotel and transportation to and from airport, hotel and gym/arena. On your own for airfare which was incredibly cheap.

Who did you book the trip through ?

Do you have to stay at Atlantis to get tickets ? I'd much rather stay at the RIU palace.

Actually my sister-in-law is the family travel agent, she handled everything but we are staying at Atlantis and I am pretty sure staying there is part of the package. As far as who we booked with, it is whoever UK went through. We got the number from KY Sports Radio.

After sitting out the Indiana All-Star games a few weeks ago with dehydration and fatigue, UK just announced that Trey Lyles is recovering from a medical procedure on his left leg and will not play on the Bahamas tour. However, UK says that Lyles is expected to be ready for the start of practice in October.

John Calipari tweeted that like Willie Cauley-Stein, they’re holding Trey out of the Bahamas trip as a precautionary measure:

“Like Willie, we’re going to hold Trey out for the games in the Bahamas while he recovers from a medical procedure. Both Willie and Trey could probably play if they really wanted to, but I’m not taking a chance on either kid. I want them 100 percent for the start of our season and there’s no reason to push these guys before they are absolutely ready. Plus, this gives us a chance to play some of our other guys and get them some more work.”

UK's games in the Bahamas will be on TV. ESPNU will televise first three & the SEC Network will do the final three
