Nice job Tigers. They were the last 7th Region team to win the state baseball title. 1981!!!

From grade school and little league, my son was teammates with a handful of this bunch. Coach Porta comes out of "retirement" and leads the St X program to 4 consecutive state tourneys. The investment in the all turf baseball diamond has finally paid off for the Tigers. I believe this result may force some changes in the baseball programs at other 7th Region schools. I am certain the Balfour sales rep is thrilled with this outcome.:popcorn:

Same ole song and dance. That won't change any time soon but if SK wants they can claim the Public School championship like Male tried to a few years ago in football.....

And St X was the only private school that even made the Tourney. And the previous 4 years, the State Champ was a regular old public school. From what I can tell, only 15 or 16 times has a private school even won the State Title since 1940. Let this argument go.

Maybe he's referring to Independent school districts (Cov., Bchwd., Ft.Tms., Nwpt., Dytn., Blvw., etc.), IDK.
