June 2, 201412 yr Says that existing plants will be allowed to convert some power from solar and wind...on a large scale has that ever worked? With nuclear capabilities far below current need and carbon based fuels being cut down...our electricity bills will skyrocket...just as the President predicted they would years ago...well it looks that's one thing he kept his word on. I'm not a fan but I also don't criticize every decision as some may. However this really ticks me off...
June 2, 201412 yr Probably higher electricity bills! Hanging young girls leads to higher electric bills? Maybe the hangings should end.
June 2, 201412 yr The people who dream of hanging young girls will be making big announcement. Obama to impose carbon pollution cap on power plants - CBS News At some point you might want to connect the dots between murdering children and energy policy so we can all share the joke. I'm sure it's hilarious.

June 2, 201412 yr Probably higher electricity bills! President Obama Quote: "You know, when I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know -- Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I'm capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it -- whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, uh, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers."
June 2, 201412 yr This is just what the economy needs, plus it will not make any difference environmentally.:scared: In an economic impact study, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said the new rules would cost the U.S. economy $50 billion per year, eliminating roughly 224,000 jobs and inhibiting domestic energy production.
June 2, 201412 yr "But every time America has set clear rules and better standards for our air, our water, and our children's health, the warnings of the cynics have been wrong," he said. " The old rules may say we can't protect our environment and promote economic growth at the same time, but in America, we've always used new technology to break the old rules." There are approximately 288 coal fired power plants in the United States that either have been or will be shut down based on the initial regulations. Some of these plants were very ineffective and very few would argue that they needed to be closed for the best interest of not only the environment, but the shareholders of the company. The larger majority of the plants being closed were for economic reasons. It was simply too expensive to retro-fit the plants to conform to the standard. I have been in probably 50 of these plants over the past several years. I can assure you that the closing of a majority of them did not promote economic growth, unless you count the increase in demolition company employees. In addition to the coal plants I have been in, I have also been involved in the attempts to sell multiple utility companies wind and solar assets. Why? Because they don't work and are incredibly expensive to maintain. Coal is currently the most economical form of energy generation in the United States with Natural Gas beginning to gain some ground. Both are dead in the sights of this administration. Next up, fracking... If this administration wants to do something about excess carbon pollution then how about not flying himself and his family all around the globe on excess vacations. How about a "stay cation" in DC, maybe camp on the South Lawn, make some Smores….but wait, that would involve fossil fuel….
June 2, 201412 yr Can we get a liberal democrat apologist opinion here ? or for short a liberal d a opinion ? anyone ?
June 2, 201412 yr Sorry, it was the first five guys they found.... EPA official apologizes for call to 'crucify' oil companies, senator investigating | Fox News Still not sure what hanging young girls has to do with any of this.
June 2, 201412 yr :sssh: don't mention Nuclear energy either...even though we should have started converting to that as a country 30 years ago. 19% of US energy comes from Nuclear production while a country like France is over 70% US has a few new plants that have been approved that should come on line in the next six years.
June 2, 201412 yr This is just what the economy needs, plus it will not make any difference environmentally.:scared: While I'm no more keen on cost increases than anyone else, I'm going to have to disagree with you about the impact to the environment. I grew up 8 miles upriver/downwind of the KU Ghent plant. Back then, I regularly struggled with asthma and other breathing problems that were 10 times as extreme as what I suffer with now since I've moved away from my hometown. I love my parents dearly but every time I go visit them, by the second or third day I'm struggling bad. So much so, I tend to cut my visits short because I can't breathe properly.
