That is a pretty good impersonation of Obama off-prompter. I have never heard any president interject as many uhhs between his sentences while he formulates and answer as Obama does. He is not a stupid person but he is not all that impressive as a speaker unless he is reading his words to a friendly audience. Neither were George H. W. and George W. Bush.

 

Our political system does not encourage the two major parties to select the best and brightest candidates to run for president. If presidents were required to face a barrage of Congress's questions periodically instead of the softball questions of the lapdog media (when they elect to hold real press conferences), our presidents would be much better at articulating positions and defending them against political adversaries.

Obama is still very popular in most of the country. His approval rating is close to 50%. Once we go on a big surge and his plan finally slips into place, I expect his approval rating to be well into the 60's. Well, actually, he'll never win over the south. But other than that, he'll have high approval ratings. Do you not like Obama because of his race as most Republicans do or do you just disagree with his ideas?

I generally read through your posts hoping to get (and often doing so) a well thought-out viewpoint from the other side of the aisle.
