Things to do in Memphis/Tunica

Featured Replies

I'll be headed to Memphis/Tunica tomorrow through Monday. Specifically looking for things to do in Memphis tomorrow and somewhere to eat for lunch. Right now we are considering stopping by Stax Records for a tour and then grabbing something to eat for lunch before heading to Tunica for check-in. If there is anywhere great, preferably a hole-in-the wall to eat close to Stax that would be perfect. I'll be in Tunica Sat/Sun then heading back on Monday. Open to any suggestions and possibly somewhere nice to eat one of the nights, either in Tunica or Memphis.

Interstate Barbecue is worth considering if you like Memphis-style pulled pork. There are probably better barbecue joints in the area, but Interstate is nationally known. If you stop, try the barbecue spaghetti.

I'd highly recommend Dyers on Beale Street if you're looking for a burger spot. Extremely good.

Rendevous has amazing ribs

There is nothing in Tunica except gambling and expensive (but good) casino food. I am not sure if Paula Deen's place has been removed since her incident, but it is great. Beale Street is filled with local traditional favorites. Check out wherever they go on Diner's Drive-Ins, and Dives. Never will fail you.

Dyers is great! I'll look up Rendezvous for sure.

Gus' Fried Chicken is off the charts good. Love that place...

Where's the best brisket down there?

Very little brisket in Memphis. Mostly pulled pork and ribs...

Corky's BBQ on Poplar Ave. has excellent brisket..

You can always watch the marching of the Ducks at the Peabody.

Check to see if the minor league baseball team is playing or there might be somebody at the Grizzles arena.

You can always check out Christian Brothers University. I believe commencement ceremonies are this week.

Stax is a must.

Dyers Burgers on Beale St are really good as long as you can stand the grease.
