I've seen a playoff game in Louisville lost at the old Fairgrounds Stadium when a field goal hit the upright and bounced out. And yes it was after the college posts were narrowed. Since we love to compare KY to other states Florida rotates their championships to various college stadiums and they all use temporary goal posts.

Made that drive more times than I can count. Almost anyone coming from Trinity is an East-Ender and not coming from downtown right next to the highway, which is what that calculation is going to be. Accounting for traffic, I've NEVER made the trip from East Louisville to WKU in less than two hours. Getting to the highway is the hard part that takes time, not the interstate driving.

No they don't. That why when they built the facility at Valley with regionals in mind they installed a college court. I asked a big muckety muck if a high school could opt to install college posts and was told they couldn't.

Yeah, I remember that game at the Fairgrounds. The kicker was crushed. His kick would have tied the game with the h/s width. The boy's coach described it as one of his own absolutely worst moments as a coach; that's how bad he felt for the kid, and he said this years after.

Long floor in sweet 16 is dumb too. That extra ten makes a difference.

 

Narrowed goalposts equals narrowed hashes and less option for wide and short side of field. It affects the game.

 

They make them use same ball.

They can't that expensive. As I said Trinity owns a set and I think X does as well.
