While not trying to defend the NAACP as a whole I can say that the branch honoring Donald Sterling is a local branch of the NAACP. Just because they are idiots in the Los Angeles branch of the NAACP doesn't mean they are idiots in the Danville branch of the NAACP. However, the Los Angeles branch of the NAACP has managed to make the entire organization as a whole look like a bunch of greedy idiots and they have done a disservice to the entire organization. People who already don't like the NAACP just got some more ammo.
April 29, 201412 yr I pretty much agree with what Cuban is saying. It is a sliperry slope. I really don't see how the NBA is justified in punishing Sterling for something that occurred with in his home. Being a racist isn't illegal, unless he broke some employement laws or something, I don't like the idea of him not being able to think or say whatever he wants. If he is too naive to realize that those comments will have consequences than that is on him. He is an owner of the franchise not an employee. I think the NBA should just let the problem resolve itself. The outrage from the fans and sponsers will likely be enough to force him to sell for financial reasons. If I am telling people in my own home that I think women have no place in the workplace, and someone records it and sends it to my employer, they have every right to fire me.

I just have a hard time accepting that you can be punished at work for comments you make at home, especially since he is not an employee. I really don't like when they fine Cuban for talking about the officials, but at least that is related to the league.
