March 4, 201412 yr ....... I had no idea there was so much venom towards Pat Forde...wow. I like Pat's work, I like Pat as a guy, and while the article was clearly a caricature of the real issues, it wasn't that far-off. Calipari is a million great things, but he is a guy who shuns accountability. I find that characteristic to be really hard to root for. Now Rick Bozich...there is a guy you can send to Timbuktu and I'll pay for the flight. He just said yesterday that this was all on him? :idunno:
March 4, 201412 yr He just said yesterday that this was all on him? :idunno: Last year was bad because I let some kids hijack the team. Randle can't handle subbing himself out of games. He can say what he wants in a singular interview when he has had time to prepare something, but he has made a lot of comments deflecting issues on to others, both at UK and at Memphis. Teflon John.....
March 4, 201412 yr Quite simply, I have never paid a bit of attention, put any value on what Forde thinks or says.
March 4, 201412 yr They may have the ninth-hardest non-conference schedule. I'm not buying ninth-hardest overall. That's putting way to much respect in the quality of play in the SEC. But let me guess the Big 12 is awesome. So awesome of course the same team wins it every single year. I promise you that if UK won the SEC for 10 straight years people like yourself would be saying the conference has to be terrible or they wouldn't win it every single season.
March 4, 201412 yr Seems like an awful lot of "they're picking on me" stuff. Hey coach — it comes with the territory as a public figure who makes gadzillions of dollars off the public dime coaching a kids' game. Get thicker skin or get out. That goes for all of them. Your last statement is basically what Calipari said.
March 4, 201412 yr Its basically like two kids fighting. Any little chance they have to poke they other one they do it. When Cal made the final four and then the next year won the title Forde really had nothing he could say that would be valid. Now after last season and this year so far he does have some stuff to finally say that is valid. You can tell how what is going on has him really excited because he finally has something lol. Just like if UK is able to find away to somehow turn this around come tournament time, then Cal will have the upper hand on him again. It is really silly at this point what is going on between them two.

If he can't take it go back to writting for a newspaper that nobody reads.
March 5, 201412 yr Duke Basketball site calls Forde an UK Apologist and says he has "Turned on Cal" This article is so laughable it goes to show how out of touch some are... Pat Forde Turns On Calipari - Duke Basketball Report As you may remember, at the beginning of the season, John Calipari openly speculated about going 40-0. His team, he said, could do that. Of course Cal never said that Where can you even start? This is like the journalistic equivalent of Jack Woltz waking up with Khartoum's head under his sheets. It's warning, a shot across the bow. It's not an offer he can't refuse, but losing Forde is huge. When did Cal or UK ever have Forde to have now lost him
March 5, 201412 yr Your last statement is basically what Calipari said. I was kind of confused because that's what I thought as well.
