16th Region Final Regular Season Poll 2/25/06

Recommended Posts

1. Morgan-Clinches Cubster's mythical title

2. Blazer-Hottest team in region

3. Boyd-Owens show heads to postseason

4. Russell-Vanhoose best shooter region has seen in years

5. Fairview-Three straight tough losses can be erased Wednesday night

6. Elliott-Where's the D?

7. Greenup-Could be the region sleeper

8. Rowan-Another tough postseason out

9. East-Baker will have Raiders ready for district

10.West-Lost 9 of 11 but still can be dangerous for one night

11.Raceland-Rough finish but will be ready Tuesday

12.Rose Hill-Cubster's team to watch in 2006-07

13.Lewis-Closed with 3 wins down the stretch

14.Fleming-District host could spring an upset

15.Menifee-Might be in Morehead with bullseye on chest at the draw

16.Bath-Same as Menifee

Barring some upsets that COULD happen 7 of top 8 could be in Morehead. What a head spinning year in 16th region hoops.

Have at it one last time in '06 at the Cubster's poll.

1. Morgan - Most consistent team all year.

2. Ashland - Have started getting contributions from everyone, and with McDavid and Thomas they are dangerous.

3. BC - Owens is the X factor in the 16th.

4. Fairview - Slumping lately, can their seniors pull it together??

5. Russell - Losing Clark really hurt, but Vanhoose can still get it done.

NO the 15th is the weakest.

Does it really matter? The 14th, 15th and 16th are the weakest in the state! IMO they would be ranked 15th weakest, 16th next, and 14th next. But it really doesn't matter. Any of them should be blown out by the big dogs at Rupp. But it is fun to go watch anyway!

As of now, the way they are playing now, I'd go with:

1.Morgan

2. Boyd and Ashland tied---- very hard to distinguish between the two

4. Russell- Vanhoose is keeping them going

5. Fairview- struggled as of late

6.Elliott- strong shooters can keep you in any game

7. Rowan- Daniels kid is another great shooter.

8-16 Complete toss up on any given night.

Good luck to all next week. :thumb:

Just a slight correction Cubster-Fairview has has 3 tough losses in their last 4 games-There was a victory against East preceding the last two games.
