Correct. Doesn't look like Hoover's only ESPN game either, as it looks like they'll have one with one of Florida's best as well (Link 2).

I'm sure we'll never find out, but I would be interested in a comparison of what they ultimately get vs. what they expected to get had they played BG. I would guess Hoover is paying them something to come there too.

I've thought about this game alot. One of the most intriguing I've ever seen. To get to the point, Blackman did not have a history with excessive personal fouls and was given an award to the contrary as good sports. I went and saw Blackman play Oakland last season. VERY tough, hard-nosed game, but no personal fouls or repetitive cheap plays.

 

I saw and kept this site appraised of this game. The team I saw play Oakland was not the team I saw play BG. I will not vouch for all the refs personal foul calls, but at least 7 of the 12 I will. If you are in a game where it is being called tight, you adjust. Any good team knows that. Blackman simply did not adjust.

 

As for me, I wish they would play, but I understand at least a reason or two why they will not. I know Blackman's coach is a good one, but both coaches haven't been "classy" in this reguard. Sometimes its best to just part ways and never see each other again. EVER

Thanks my friend. The game is on Sunday Aug. 24th at 11:00 AM central. Jennings & an Oakland lineman are both UT commits. Both teams should be very good.

Will they also play later in the year? It seems awful early for this game. Maybe just a district thing. It seems like it was pretty darn chilly when I saw them last year at Oakland. I guess Marysville (I think) will be waiting in the wings again for whoever comes out of their district in the playoffs.

They did play later last year. They moved the game up for ESPN. And yes...one of them will likely play Maryville again.
