JokersWild24 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Link Below Good or bad move? Would he get this opportunity if he hadn't come out? Is it possible to know or is that an unfair hypothetical? Is it ironic that the team associated with Jay Z and owned by Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov is the one doing this? I say this because you can point to some lyrics that Jay Z has which, taken in isolation at least, might be considered homophobic; I say Prokhorov because he still lives in Russia and has an eye towards politics. Brooklyn Nets considering signing Jason Collins to 10-day contract - ESPN New York
bugatti Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 The NBA is always looking for a serviceable big man. Unfortunately for Collins his game resembles Michael Olowokandi. Meaning he sucks.

HammerTime Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Jay Z has zero affiliation with the Nets these days. He doesn't have a contract because he's not very good.
bugatti Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I can't.........:lol2: Very nice. Glad you caught that.

Completely forgot about him being a sports agent now. That was a lapse. Still, given Prokohorv's political career in Russia, I wonder how this is being received?
PurplePride92 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Completely forgot about him being a sports agent now. That was a lapse. Still, given Prokohorv's political career in Russia, I wonder how this is being received? Depends on who is pitching. Okay......I can.
JokersWild24 Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 The NBA is always looking for a serviceable big man. Unfortunately for Collins his game resembles Michael Olowokandi. Meaning he sucks. I wouldn't say he "sucks". He's a superb ball-handler for a big man. He can attack the rim, and when he does, he finishes strong. At the same time, he might be prone to struggling to defend the rim against penetration. Still don't know if he'll always show good awareness when it comes to the double team, I could see a guy like the Heat's Chris Bosh really giving him problems by running doubles at him all night.
JokersWild24 Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 All seriousness, from what I've read, Jason Kidd is a fan of Collins from their days playing together, he's a solid defender and can bring some things to the table that might help them win. The Nets have a veteran locker room and won't be distracted by the signing. I fully expect him to be signed.
PP1 Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 All things aside, he real isn't that good. I don't think he has played since 2011.
tcjkbt Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 ESPN is all abuzz about Collins signing the 10-day contract. What will they do if and when the WNBA has an openly lesbian player?
LOOGY Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Never seen such a terrible player get so much press since Tebow. I don't get it
PurplePride92 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Heard he signed a 10 Day contract with the Nets today. Anybody else hear that?
