Why can't either side admit there is some truth to both arguments?? It's clear and there is no denying that humans have had impact on our environment and some of these may be contributing to the general warming trend we've experienced over the last couple of decades. We've got to do a better job of protecting the world we live in. However, it is also clear that our climate has had wild swings in the past, and we are just as likely to be in one of those patterns right now. This is not an all or nothing, right or wrong argument. How both sides have become so polarized on this baffles me. As with most situations, the truth more than likely lies somewhere in the middle.

Our side doesn't deny humans have some impact, it's the alarmist side that claims we're the ones causing all the "problems".

Secretary of State Kerry is to be saluted for elevating the discussion -- for thrusting the topic onto the world stage. I believe the initial funding level called for by the president is $1 billion, which is 1/800 of what we spent to bring liberty and democracy to Iraq.

Talk is fine. Fear mongering is unacceptable, and that's what he is doing.

The side opposite the alarmists that also chirp very loudly, proclaiming it's all bull and completely false. That's as untrue as saying we are to blame for everything. And the real is answer is we really can't be sure. Now this has grown into such a silly political argument, that neither side is willing to listen to reason. We should be able to agree on doing what we can to minimize what impact we have.
