February 9, 201412 yr I just shot my 1911 Springfield Armory yesterday for the first time. It came in about 2 weeks ago and I was chomping at the bit to pop a few rounds off. Stainless with the rose wood grips. Loved it. My son is allowed to by order direct from the company at a nice discount. I may be adding to my collection.:sssh:

Actually, I will start a new thread on reloading. Well that comes out to about 0.39 cents a round. I think anything approaching .40 cents is pretty good if quality ammo, anything under .40 cents I'd say is pretty darn good most of the time. I don't have a .45, I shoot a .40 and 9mm, but am always pricing the ammo. Most of the .45 I see comes in around 0.45 cents a round.
February 10, 201412 yr I'm not really a handgun guy, admittedly, but I've toyed with the idea of getting a Springfield GI or Mil Spec .45 on many occasions. I've also thought a LOT about getting a .22 revolver to shoot for fun...but I've never come across one that I was happy with for less than five bills, and that's a bit of a tall order for what essentially serves no purpose besides being a plinking gun. Maybe someday, though.

Maybe someday, though. That's an easy fix...the Heritage Rough Rider single action "cowboy style" revolver. Can find the for well under $200.00. I had one and sold it last spring for $100.00. Fun little gun to shoot, but I wanted to get more rounds down range quicker. Kind of a bugger to empty and reload, not hard, just takes more time than I wanted it to take. Sweet shooting little gun and accurate. Worth a look. http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_570316_-1 Should be able to find it around here for $170.00 or so.
February 10, 201412 yr We need to get FKYW in here to tell us his thoughts on his Buckmark. That's a .22 pistol I'd like to shoot more.
