1911 anybody?

Featured Replies

Curious, did you happen to see them at Shooter's Supply?

I was at BassPro Shops. I was being nosey to see how their ammo supplies and prices were.

With the exception of .22, supplies were pretty good, prices not so much.

I'm sure Shooters Supply would have them in stock. Have you visited Shooters Supply yet? I like the people at Open Range better but Shooters Supply's inventory is impressive.

I haven't been to Open Range yet. I did go to Shooter's Supply however and I saw one there. I didn't hold it in my grubby paws, but I thought it was a sharp weapon. It was the Elite if I recall correctly, may have been used. I want to say it had a price tag of around 8ish.

The one I saw at Bass Pro was for $1200 but it was a double stack. I know some 1911 purists would not like a double stack 1911 but as big as my hands are, it woulr probably suit me well.

Also, Shooters Supply and Bass Pro are sort of odd in their pricing. Some things their prices are great, others make you scratch your head.

I'd like to shoot one.

I did go to Shooter's Supply

How did you like Shooter's Supply? The have an impressive store, just their help have a reputation for being stuck up. PepRock has colorful comments about them lol.

You and me both. There are several guns I would love to rent to decide whether to eventually buy some day but can't find a range to rent. Examples are the new Sig .45 APC double stack P227 to compare to the single stack 220. I would also like to try the Sig P938 and the P239. Both great single stack 9mm I am told. Lastly, everything I have read about 10mm is great but I want to try on first.

I haven't been to Open Range yet.

When ever you have a free hour, I encourage you to check it out. Nice range, nice store and really nice staff. First time I went there I made it clear that I was not ready to buy and two staff people there still spent plenty of time educating me on firearms I was interested. You would probably not get that Shooters Supply, if they sense you are not ready to buy, they sometimes will blow you off.

I plan on taking my weapons with me. And I plan on taking my son with me. I had a friend tell me that they want to instruct, and I don't need it, nor does he. Did you find that to be true Bert?
